for her this story would have ended with L&J.
This chapter concerns only Usagi's part of the story, Goku
and the senshi will be the focus of the next part.

*****
Usagi stretched out on her comfortable lawn chair in
the garden outside of Capsule Corp.'s headquarters. Bulma
and Chichi lay in similar chairs to either side or her and
both were just as relaxed as she.
Of course Usagi had plenty of reasons not to be
comfortable right now, like the fact that this wasn't her
home, she was certain of it now. Apparently a very powerful
force nearby named King Kai was able to talk to Sailor Pluto
and most of what had happened had been straightened out.
She had not been the only one happy though; it turned out
that Gohan's father, Goku, was alive as well, and that he
was with the senshi. Strange, but stranger things have
happened. The only problem now was to wait for these Dragon
Balls everyone keeps talking about to wish her back. Of
course she had been skeptic at first but if she could be
Sailor Moon, Luna could talk and some people on this planet
have incredible powers as well. Well then why shouldn't it
be possible.
Right now she sighed as she felt the relief that
Mamoru was indeed alive, very far away, but at least alive;
and though her heart ached for him she knew that to fall
into that hole of misery would only make him sadder as well.
For despite the fact that they couldn't talk to each other
at such distances, after a few hours of her regaining
consciousness they could feel each others emotions again.
And Usagi had been terrified when she felt Mamoru's despair
at thinking she was dead. So terrified she couldn't sleep
for the first few days she had arrived. But as she realized
freaking wouldn't help she tried to stay as cheery as
possible and that seemed to have an effect on him, it worked
marvelously. He was at least not stuck in his dangerously
depressed state. And they would be able to see each other
again in 5 months. A long time to wait, but it was better
then the alternative.
Of course, Usagi thought with a smile, I have another
reason to be happy. One of the things that had kept her in
despair had been the fact that she feared she could never
transform again. But a few days ago that had changed.
**Flashback**
Usagi lay in Chichi's guest room staring up at the
ceiling; Mamoru was feeling a little happier, he obviously
had received word that she was alive and for that she was
thankful but she still couldn't sleep. With a resigned sigh
she went out to the garden to get some fresh air, she had
hoped to glimpse the moon but it seemed that this Earth's
moon had been destroyed. Piccolo seemed to be the only one
who knew anything about it, but was reluctant to talk on the
matter. He only said that the moon could be wished back
when they had a free wish available.
She had been horrified at the fact that there was no
moon. It didn't seem possible somehow. And she could feel
its loss deeply.
She walked by Vegeta who was sleeping on the hammock
mumbling in his sleep. She was intrigued by the gruff man
and would have stayed to listen to more of what he said
except it was mostly indiscernible, and something was
pulling her away.
She had followed the pull to the garden; her original
destination, and sat beside the lonely rose bush that was
planted there. It was sad that there weren't more of the
precious red roses, but just these few were a comfort.
She smelt the roses delicately and thought of Mamoru
when a soft glow appeared on the path before her. Her eyes
widened in surprise but she was not afraid, the glow was
warm and inviting and only the size of a small doll. Slowly
and carefully the glow formed into something more, the
outline of a woman, with wings. Usagi's eyes lighted in
joy, she would have known that figure anywhere. The woman's
form finally fell into place with an ethereal glow about
her, her delicate features and soft smile could have tamed
any beast.
"Mother..." Usagi whispered, a tear of joy tumbling
down her cheek, reflecting the light from Queen Serenity to
seem as if it itself burned with the beautiful light.
Serenity smiled again, "Hello my dear sweet daughter,
I hope all is well, I miss you so much."
"And I you mother." Answered Usagi, unconsciously
switching to her princess state.
"Have you been informed of these, ah, strange goings
on?" asked the queen with a hint of worry.
The princess nodded, "I have," she paused, "why are
you here? I love when you visit, please do not misinterpret
me, but you always have a reason for showing up."
The queen laughed, "Oh Serenity you still haven't
changed. Well I can't stay for long unfortunately so I must
be brief. I felt your cry when your locket shattered and
was pleased when you found your new transformation by
yourself. But I am afraid that you can not go back to that
unless in dire need, and so I have come to fix your locket."
Serenity's eyes widened with surprise and happiness.
"Truly?" she asked, her voice a high squeak.
Queen Serenity nodded but her smile dropped a little.
"There is one problem though, I only have the power to help
you regain your original locket, the ginzuishou will have to
stay elsewhere for now. And the Eternal Moon Broach will
remain lost until you have enough power and need in your
heart to regain it."
The princess' eyes saddened a little but she
understood, at least it was better then nothing. Something
flashed across her mind suddenly, "Does this mean I will
have to fight again?"
The queen paused, "I cannot tell you that I'm afraid
even if I did know. But the only one whom can answer that
question is Sailor Pluto. Now for your broach; even with
this simple locket I can not re-create it without your help.
Now dear daughter, concentrate on all the power and hope and
love inside of you and picture the locket in your hand."
The young princess did as she was told and both she
and her mother started to glow. The princess' gown started
to melt away as the glow increased and she found herself in
civilian form again. She held out her hands and the glow
left herself and her mother and started twirling in her
hands. She pushed a little with her mind and willed the
locket to form, to return to her and with the same style
that it originally contained.
The glow died and suddenly Usagi realized that at some
point she had closed her eyes. She held her broach close
with comfort as she realized her mother was fading.
"Mother what's happening?" she asked worriedly.
Serenity smiled sadly, "I have used up all the power I
have for now, you have made me proud dearest daughter, I
will see you soon!" And with that the queen faded from
view.
Usagi stared at the spot where her mother had just
been in wonder and sadness. She placed her broach on the
pajamas Chichi had given her and turned to leave. She was
tempted to transform but something told her not to, not yet.
So she proceed out of the garden only to be met almost head
on with Piccolo and Vegeta.
"What's been going on out here?" demanded Piccolo
gruffly.
Usagi shrank back a little and replied meekly.
"Nothing, I couldn't sleep and came out to smell the roses."
"You lie!" exclaimed Vegeta, "I could feel the power
here, I can still feel traces of it. There was someone
powerful here!"
Usagi let relief flow through her, they didn't suspect
her, yet, and she still felt a great sense of urgency to
keep her powers a secret. She decided to do a little
acting; time to play ditz. "Really! Wow, I wonder what it
was, I mean you guys look really frazzled. But I wouldn't
worry about it too much, cause hey! I certainly didn't see
anything, or you would've heard me screaming and running for
cover!" she giggled, "Really, you guys are too tense, maybe
you ate something that didn't sit well in your stomach and
you dreamed it!" She yawned cutting off a protest from
Vegeta and sensing his ignited anger and confusion she cut
the meeting short. "Well this was just what I need to get
myself in the right mood for sleeping, boy am I exhausted,
'night boys!"
And with that she waltzed inside and went to bed,
exhausted from the energy she had expanded. And no one
noticed the broach she now wore with her everywhere.
**End Flashback**
Usagi clutched the broach subconsciously and grinned,
a small giggle escaping her lips. Bulma turned to face her.
"What's so funny girl?"
Usagi put a hand to her head and giggled some more,
"Nothing." She responded lamely.
This got Chichi interested, "Oh now we know you're
lying!"
Usagi jumped out of her seat and giggled some more,
"Am not! I'm just happy is all!"
Bulma placed her hands on her hips and looked
dubiously towards Chichi. But before they could object
Usagi continued again. "Hey, you girls promised me that
you'd take me shopping today!"
Bulma laughed, "Of course, I just thought you two
would want some more time."
"Time for what?" demanded Chichi, her voice lowering a
notch.
Bulma gulped, "You know, to get over the whole shock
thing." She responded her voice getting louder, "I was just
trying to be considerate! I thought you'd need some time to
get over what's happened to Goku."
Chichi visibly calmed down. "Oh Bulma that's really
nice of you but I couldn't be happier now that I know he's
alive." She glanced at Usagi who was watching the scene with
mute fascination. "And I'm sure it's the same for Ms.
Tsukino over there."
Usagi nodded and Bulma seemed satisfied enough, "Ok
then, let's go!" she exclaimed grabbing Usagi and Chichi by
the wrist and dragging them off.
Usagi started giggling as Bulma pulled the girls
along.
The passed the area where the Nameks were playing an
assortment of games. And Usagi noticed Piccolo talking to
little Dinde and Gohan, Chichi shouted at Gohan to tell him
where she was going and Vegeta; who was leaning against a
nearby tree, shook his head, "Bunch of Ditzes." He mumbled
and Bulma stopped long enough to stick her tongue out at him
in defiance.
Usagi giggled, and whispered something to Bulma that
no one else could hear. Bulma went beet read and her eyes
practically lit on fire. "I would NEVER even DREAM OF IT!
How can you POSSIBLY THINK that I COULD- could... AHHH!"
She threw her arms into the air and Usagi grinned in
triumph. So much like Rei...
*****
A little while later the three girls arrived at the
shopping mall ready to do some serious shopping. Usagi
squealed in delight and ran to the first store, ready to get
herself some clothes of her own, it was a very nice little
store and Usagi immediately headed to a rack of pretty
pastel dresses. She found a nice pink one with a tiny white
bunny that would be over her heart when she wore it and
admired herself in the mirror.
"It's perfect for you!" exclaimed Bulma.
Usagi grinned, "I love it!" but then she looked at the
price tag and her smile dropped. "Oh Bulma I know you said
you'd pay for anything I wanted but this just costs too
much."
Bulma didn't even flinch and never even asked how much
it had cost, "Nothing's too much Usagi-chan, remember that."
"But Bulma...-chan, this is-"
Bulma cut her off, "Usagi-chan, did I not mention that
I'm rich?"
Usagi's jaw dropped, and Bulma continued. "I told you
my dad owns Capsule Corp. right?"
Usagi nodded slowly, "Well," finished Bulma, "don't
you know that Capsule Corp. is the biggest corporation
around, I'm probably one of the richest people on the
planet! So go ahead buy what you want!"
Usagi's grin couldn't have been bigger as she hugged
Bulma and the real shopping spree began.
*
2 hours later the three young women sat in the food
court sipping cold drinks with a multitude of bags around
them. All three were laughing deliriously, "Oh I've never
had so much fun shopping before!" exclaimed Chichi. Usagi
smiled lifting her head up from her food, the girls had
finally gotten uses to her eating habits but it was still
intriguing. "You should try it more often Chichi-chan, it's
lots of fun, it's more fun when you've got Bulma's kind of
money but even window shopping with my friends back home is
one of the best things in the world.
Chichi finished chewing her food and looked at Usagi,
shifting a tad nervously in her seat. "If you don't mind
Usagi we know what set up this dimensional rift thing on our
side. I mean Namek blowing up was huge but... what happened
in your dimension?"
Usagi swallowed her food and looked down in thought.
She knew this was going to happen eventually, but how much
to tell them. Unlike the people here she had a secret
identity and was terribly reluctant to give it away. What
to say? She was about to try and change the subject, being
at a loss for what to say. When a cry of fear erupted from
near-by. Usagi leapt to her feet instinctively and ran in
the direction of the cry, Bulma and Chichi started but were
soon hot on her tail.
She arrived outside the small bank and noticed that it
was being held up. The gun man fired several shots into the
air and a hoard of people rushed towards the trio nearly
knocking them down in their panic to get away. Usagi took
this opportunity to slip quietly away. She couldn't just
stand there and let this happen, even if she WAS used to
dealing with youma!
She slipped into a now empty halfway, probably leading
to and employee area and raised her hand in the air.
"Moon Prism Power, MAKE-UP!" She welcomed the rush of
power happily, now fully relieved that she could help the
innocent again, she smiled as she realized the ginzuishou
was on a powerful chain around her neck. She then rushed
out of her hiding place towards the hold-up. She wasn't
sure exactly sure as to what she was going to do, she knew
she couldn't try and stop the man while he had a gun pointed
at the clerk's head. So she slid up just beside the door;
surprisingly gracefully, and waited for a moment. Then she
carefully poked her head around the corner to see the clerk
stuffing money into a bag. She made a mental not of where
the innocent by-standers were, including Bulma and Chichi;
Bulma with a strange green thing over one eye. Moon passed
it off, she had more important things to worry about.
The robber had his back to her but when she pocked her
head around again the clerk saw her, Sailor Moon motioned
for the woman and the others that may have seen her to be
quite and vaulted up to the tiny ledge above the doorframe.
Convenient that, she thought, as she heard the robber coming
towards her. He backed carefully out of the door looking
behind him and to both sides but thankfully not above. His
gun was still trained on the poor clerk though. She waited
patiently, trying not to klutz out as the robber assured
himself that there was no one who could harm him nearby and
turned ever so slightly. And at that moment when his gun
wasn't facing anyone Sailor Moon sprung.
She launched herself from the top of the door and
landed a hard kick on the robbers head; counting on her
super strength to knock him out. The gun went off with a
bang and the bullet buried itself in the wall. Moon let out
a shriek of surprise for she had never heard a real gun fire
up close before and almost tripped when she reached the
ground but she quickly tucked into a roll and came up facing
the robber. He was still conscious but incredibly dazed,
his bag of money dropped and bills were lying everywhere.
But more importantly he had momentarily forgotten the gun in
his hand. That moment was all Sailor Moon needed as she
cried, "Sailor KICK!" and knocked the gun out of the man's
hand. It was sent flying into the bank where a clerk
snatched it up and hid it so the man couldn't retrieve it.
Moon twirled around and knocked the man off his feet and as
his head hit the ground police burst in through one door of
the mall, and from the other direction came two very
familiar faces. Piccolo and Vegeta.
Moon knew why the police were here but Piccolo and
Vegeta's presence worried her, and she knew she should get
out of there fast.
She gave and o.k. sign to the police and then
proceeded to take off through the 5 or 6 that were there in
the exact opposite direction that the two soldiers were.
She moved at a faster speed then she thought she could and
was outside in seconds. "Guess all that dodging finally
paid off." She mumbled to herself, and started off to find a
quite place to de-transform and then go join Bulma and
Chichi again.
****
Later that evening after Usagi had fallen asleep in
Bulma's guest room; as they were staying there for a while,
in a small room not to far away, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan,
Bulma and Chichi were sitting down to discuss this 'Sailor
Moon's' appearance.
Vegeta and Piccolo were both standing but at opposite
side of the small room shooting the occasional glare at each
other. Bulma and Chichi were sitting across from each other
on cushions and Gohan was sitting cross-legged beside his
mother but on Piccolo's side of the room.
"Ok Bulma, so what did your scanner say her power
level was?" asked Piccolo, eager to get this sorted out.
Bulma sighed, "Well I didn't get the initial flash of
power that you guys said you felt; but afterwards I got 4
different power readings, first there was the broach on her
chest that was at about 1000. And then the tiara on her
forehead was at about 1500, something to watch out for if
she decides to change her attitude, it might be a weapon.
The other two left something out though, I'm certain of it,
there was a small jewel hanging on a tiny chain around her
neck, its power kept fluctuating from 2000 to 4000. And
finally there's her own power level, that was fluctuating
with the crystal except it went from 1500 to 3500. Though I
have a feeling that with the last two much of her power is
hidden away, like we can do here. Except it's different
somehow, I can't put my finger on it though." Bulma
finished her speech, and Vegeta nodded his head.
"She didn't seem like that great of a fighter," he
stated, "but that flash of power we felt can't be ignored."
Piccolo nodded in agreement. "She's probably keeping
something secret. Now to figure out who she was..."
Chichi spoke up here, "Well let's see, she had a
wonderful figure, blond hair done up in tiny balls on her
head and blond streamers that fell from the balls."
Gohan suddenly started talking, "Hey guys, where was
Usagi during all of this?"
Bulma shrugged, "When she found us afterwards she said
she got lost in the crowd and hid when she realized she
couldn't help."
Chichi shook her head, "Wait a minute, that doesn't
make any sense, she was the one that pulled us in that
direction in the first place. And it was after she
disappeared that Sailor Moon appeared."
Gohan picked this up immediately, "This is the first
real incident since Usagi gained consciousness, *and* she's
been holding something from us ever since she arrived."
Bulma's eyes widened, "When we tried to ask her what
happened in her dimension that was as powerful as Namek
exploding." She paused, "But Sailor Moon's not that
powerful."
Piccolo shook his head, "This all makes too much
sense, Vegeta and I found her out in Chichi's garden a
nights ago after feeling a burst of power and she denied
seeing anything. We passed it off then, but at that point
in time we didn't know that there would be any powerful
female warriors."
Vegeta nodded slowly, "Even in the Saijan race female
warriors were rarely incredibly strong..." he trailed off,
he might be cold, calm, and collected, but even her felt the
loss of his race. Maybe that was why he stayed here with
these humans. 'No' he thought to himself, 'I stay because
Kakorott will be coming back soon and I'm going to find out
how he became a Super Saijan!'
Gohan shook his head, "But even if she is, why
wouldn't she tell us? It's not like we've kept any secrets
from her!"
Chichi looked pensive for a moment, "Yes but we don't
have secrets to keep really."
"What do you mean Chichi?" asked Piccolo.
"Think of it this way, you guys don't keep your
identities a secret because if someone attacks you, you can
immediately attack back. But if this is Usagi, I mean look
at her, she's so small and fragile, and she looks like she
would brake if touched to hard. Maybe this is a
transformation she can do and so she keeps it a secret so no
one thinks to harm her when she's not transformed."
The room was silent for a moment. Until Vegeta shook
his head, "Something's still missing though-"
***
Meanwhile up in a tiny little room Usagi was tossing
and turning in her bed, unable to sleep. Vegeta and Piccolo
had been worried about her, well Sailor Moon, but her none
the less... Why? She certainly didn't use any of her
powers, noting spectacular for them to see. So the only
possible reason would be that they could feel power. But
still this was her original transformation, her power was no
where near theirs in this state.
She tossed and turned some more until she could take
it no more and jumped out of bed. She slipped some casual
clothes and went for a walk. She wandered the building for
a while, making sure not to leave the area she was in, in
case she got lost. She wandered aimlessly, without a sound
until she reached a door with voices coming from behind it.
She wasn't one to eavesdrop so she started to head away when
she heard someone say Sailor Moon. Well now this
conversation included her, and she had every right, she
thought to herself and pressed her ear up to the door.
They were discussing her all right, it seemed normal
enough, until she heard her name mentioned. She let a
little yelp and clamped her hands over her mouth. No! They
couldn't know! But as she listened some more she realized
that they did know and there was no way she could change
their minds now.
"Oh dear," she muttered to herself, "Why isn't the
magic working, how can they possible make the connection?"
she paused and a look of confusion crossed her face, "What
if they're supposed to know? But why were my feelings
leading me the other way?"
She sighed, she might as well get this over with, let
them know that she knows they know.
She listened for a moment as Chichi, with her strange
yet accurate insights told the rest what she had tried so
hard to keep secret. And then Vegeta:
"Something's still missing though-"
That's when Usagi opened the door and stepped in.
"You're right Vegeta, there is a lot missing."
Several little gasps came from the people in the room
as she sat down on a spare cushion and took off her broach.
It lay in her hand with surprisingly little weight. She
studied it for a moment a let out a small laugh.
"So you figured out my little secret." She said, no
one answered, "I'm surprised though, Queen Serenity's magic
is supposed to stop you from figuring it out..." she leaned
back against the wall. "I suppose now that you know I
should tell you everything..."
And so she did, every thing from the Silver Millennium
to the present day, and by the end of it she was in tears.
"...And I don't know if I'll ever get my Eternal powers
back, mother said that I will, but... but..." She started
crying again and Chichi moved to her and cradled her in her
arms.
Usagi cried for a while letting all the tension that
had been building up in her come flying out in streams of
tears. And after she was done she just lay there in
Chichi's arms; relief flooded her but she didn't know what
to do now.
She took a deep breath and whispered a thank you to
Chichi who took her hint and went back to her seat. Usagi's
eyes scanned the room, Bulma and Chichi were looking at her
with sympathy, and Gohan was confused and tired. Piccolo's
face was unreadable as usual but Vegeta was as easy to read
as a book.
Usagi shook her head, "I don't blame you Vegeta," she
said Vegeta gave her an inquisitive look and Usagi
continued. "You think I'm a useless cry-baby just like
everyone else, you're just like Rei except you care even
less! Well that's just fine because I'm used to people
thinking that. And if that makes me a weak person to you
well you can take a hike!" she stood up in front of the
Saijan prince sticking her small nose in his face. Vegeta
just turned his head and gave her his typical indignant
look. "And if you think that emotions are a weakness then
you have no idea what life is all about! I would have died
a long time ago if it weren't for my emotions, my love for
my friends and their love for me. So don't even say it!"
And with that she left the room, having completely
exhausted her resources. She went up to her room, crawled
into the soft bed and fell asleep.
****
Well that's it for part 2. Woo! That took a slightly
different turn then I first anticipated... Oh well! Just
means I'll get to my next part faster then anticipated!
Next Time: Goku and the senshi took to each other rather
quickly, but this new born friendship will be put to the test
when during a fight they discovers Goku has been keeping
several secrets from them as well.
