Somewhere Over the Rainbow By Erica DeTraglia (nbcgrl13@hotmail.com) This is part of my Abby & Puck Saga. It takes place sometime after the "A Christmas Curse." For all my stories....see Nabiki's great site at: http://www.angelfire.com/ok4/puckshrine. Disclaimer: Disney and Buena Vista Television and whoever else bought the rights to it own Gargoyles. All other characters are mine *beams* That's right..they came right out of my own head :) Well, enough babbling. This is a weird story but I love it. I have to say this was the most fun to write and I'm very proud of it. So, I hope you like it too. *hugs * Again I'm sorry for any typos. ********************************************************************** Abby was on edge. It was just one of those days and it was only breakfast. Puck was whining about work, Robin was whining about hockey practice and Luna was whining about school coming up. Even Tori was sniffling ready to burst into tears. Abby was sitting at the head of the table taping Tori's baby spoon on the table counting to ten. She stood up to clean off or attempt to clean off the food Tori hadn't eaten. The voices were just getting louder and louder it made Abby's head hurt. Luna came up and started to call her. When Luna said 'mom' for about the tenth time Abby snapped. "What do you want?" Luna jumped and answered. "Umm...nothing." All anger drained from Abby's face and was replaced with horror. Puck got up and put his hand on Abby's shoulder. "You ok?" "No." She pushed his hand off and went to her room, slamming the door. Luna looked at Puck. "What's wrong with mom?" Puck smiled. "She's probably just tired. I'll go see. You three," he picked up Tori from the highchair and gave her to Luna, "go play with Alex." Luna was about to object, but Puck put a finger to her lips. "Go." She nodded and followed Robin out of the apartment. Puck waited until they left before walking to the bedroom. He gently tapped on the door and he heard a muffled. "Come in." He entered to see Abby crying with her head in her hands. "Sweetheart?" Abby looked up and took in a staggered breath. "Yeah?" Puck sat on the bed slowly and took Abby's hands. She looked into his eyes. "Puck, what am I doing? I'm 25 years old...a mother of three...a wife...I feel like I am 40 years old. I feel like I should be goofing off with my friends or vacationing on some tropical island, drinking exotic drinks with those little umbrellas in them. But I'm not...and I feel like I'm missing something. And just by thinking that I feel like I'm betraying you and the kids." Puck wrapped his arms around her. "Mid-life crisis before your time huh?" Abby just nodded and rested her head on Puck's shoulder. "I guess so." Puck kissed her forehead. "You aren't missing much. BELIEVE me. Plus, you are immortal so you can do all that 'goofing off' in another life-time." Abby looked up at him. "True...it's hard to remember that sometimes...I'm soo used to the fact that people die." Puck decided to change the subject. "Do you know what tomorrow is?" Abby sniffled. "What?" Puck pretended to be hurt. "Well, I see where I stand." Abby lifted an eyebrow, wiping her eyes with her sleeves. "Why?" Puck sat on the floor before Abby. "Tomorrow is the seventh anniversary of the first day we meet." Abby chuckled. "I remember that day...I didn't like you very much at the time." Puck grabbed a tissue and gave it to Abby. "Yeah I kinda knew that...but I loved you the moment I saw you. You were so cute when you were yelling at me." Puck grinned and to his delight Abby did too. He opened the nightstand and took out an envelope. "I was going to save this until tomorrow, but I think you need it now." He handed Abby the envelope and she smiled. "Australia?" Puck nodded. "I think it's time that you and I went on a vacation without the kids. I have already cleared it with Fox and your father. Abby slid down the side of the bed so she was sitting next to Puck. "When are we going on this trip?" Puck shrugged. "That's your department...I'll provide the transportation, the funds for those little trinkets, and the handsome studly bod..." "Hugh Jackman is coming with us?" "Hey!" said Puck with his hands on his hips. Abby giggled and kissed Puck. "I was kidding...mostly." Puck smiled back at her. "It's times like this I wonder why I married you?" Abby rolled her eyes. "Well, I could think of two reasons, who are playing with Alex right now." Puck snickered. "Oh yeah.... so?" Abby looked at the pamphlets. "How about tomorrow?" Puck's eyebrows went up. "Man, you are stressed out. Ok, tomorrow it is. I'll go tell Fox and David." Abby nodded and put the envelope back on the nightstand. She grabbed Puck's hand and pulled him into a deep and passionate kiss. Puck didn't know what hit him. He put his hands on her shoulders and pulled away. "Whoa...my knees are weak." "I just wanted to thank you for this trip." "Don't thank me yet...wait until tomorrow night." He said with an evil grin. Abby just laughed and gave him a hug that he returned ten-fold. Tori was laying on her stomach on the carpet in Alex's room. The twins were the baby-sitters tonight so they also had Ennis with them. Luna, Robin, and Alex were sitting on his bed playing poker. They were using M&Ms as chips. Alex was winning. "Alex! How am I suppose to win back the M&Ms if you keep eating them!" screamed Luna. Alex just laughed at her and popped another one into his mouth. Robin was watching the babies. He too was eating a few M&Ms. Ennis had slowly lain on his stomach in front of Tori and was watching her very closely. He didn't know how but he knew he had to protect her. He knew she couldn't take care of herself yet. He turned his head and flapped his ears in curiosity and Tori just went wide-eyed and smiled. She tried to the reach for his ear but dropped down again. She flapped her wings to mimic Ennis as he flapped his wings and ears. Tori wasn't paying attention and she slowly began to lift off the ground. It was Ennis's turn to go wide-eyed, as well as Robin. "Aliz!" yelled Ennis. Alex and Luna turned to see little Tori flapping her wings, floating in mid-air. The little 5-month-old was giggling like crazy. Alex jumped off the bed. "Ok, stay calm...Tori just keep thinking happy thoughts." He slowly walked over to Tori and plucked her out of the air. Tori let her wings fall laying them ontop of Alex's arm. She looked at him with a sad countenance as if to say, 'Why did you do that?' Luna let out a sigh. "That was close." Robin smiled. "That was soo cool." Alex walked over to the bed and grabbed a few more M&Ms. He handed Tori to Luna. Ennis quickly jumped on the bed and also sat in Luna's lap to be with Tori. Alex smiled. "They are cute together." Robin made a face. "Please...they aren't even a year old." Luna hugged them. "Maybe we could look into their futures to see what happens." Alex got very serious. "Luna...your father taught us that we shouldn't do that. It is wrong." Luna nodded. "It was just a thought." Alex ate some more M&Ms. "So, when are your parents leaving?" Robin smiled and crossed his arms. "No futures, I thought." Alex smiled. "That wasn't a future...but fact. Mom told me about it." Robin grabbed some M&Ms. "Oh...we didn't know about it. I hope soon though. Mom has been so weird. We try to help but we are only 6 years old." Alex frowned. "That sounds more like an excuse than a reason." Robin grinned and jumped off the bed. He was walking to the door when Fox showed up. "Hey guys, what's up?" Alex waved. "Hey mom, not much just playing." Fox crossed her arms. "Well, Luna and Robin you're parents are going on vacation tomorrow and I get to watch you." All the kids made a sour face, even little Ennis and Tori. They didn't like the sound of that either. Puck walked back from telling Fox and David about the vacation. He was just as excited as Abby was...he had wanted to be alone with her for some time now. Abby had gotten pregnant so fast...they had been dating just over a year. He didn't regret it but it would have been nice to just have themselves. Luna and Robin were old enough now that they could sneak away and there were enough baby-sitters for little Tori. Puck took out a wallet size picture of his kids. This was definitely coming with them. This way he could brag with the rest of the parents about how perfect their children were...but Puck knew that his were perfect. He smiled to himself and put the picture back in his pocket. Puck wasn't paying attention and walked right into Matt Bluestone. Puck looked up. "Hey Matt, sorry about that." "No problem, Puck. Is Abby around?" Puck's eyebrow went up and nodded. "Yeah...why?" Matt shrugged. "I wanted to wish her a happy vacation. Fox was telling Elisa and me about it." Puck knew why Matt wanted to see Abby. He had had a crush on her for awhile, which Puck didn't blame him for, but sometimes he got too forward. Puck knew that Abby was a big girl and could take care of herself. "Yeah..she's in our apartment." Matt thanked him and walked away. Puck gave Matt one dirty look before walking to the kitchen to sample some ancient whiskey Xanatos had just bought on Ebay. Abby was trying to take the suitcases down from the closest without bringing down the whole closet. She didn't dare use her magic due to the other magical articles in the closet like the kids and her flying brooms and Puck's orbs. She felt like John Candy in Uncle Buck, ready to receive a bowling ball right on her head. All of a sudden a pair of arms reached above her and took the suitcases out with ease. She turned to see Matt. "Hey Matt...thanks for your help. You know, the downside of being petite." Matt smiled. "No problem...so you and," he coughed, "Puck going to Aussie I hear." "Yep, one or two weeks. I can't wait! Come on into the kitchen, I'll get you something to drink." Matt put the suitcase down and followed her. Abby felt uncomfortable right now with Matt behind her...her magic told her he was checking her out. Now, Matt wasn't a pervert or a jerk...he was just lonely. So, she let it slide this time. She got lemonade for him and herself and they sat at the table, Abby made chitchat but there seemed to something on Matt's mind. "Matt, what's wrong? You seem alittle spaced out?" Matt snapped back to reality and looked at Abby. "Oh...nothing...just tired and depressed." "Maybe if you talk about it, it will make you fell better." Abby regretted saying those words. "Well ok. I just...well...if I had been the one to pick you up your first day in NYC, would you have gone out with me?" Abby choked on her drink. "Excuse me?" "If I had been the one to pick you up...would you have fallen in love with me?" Abby just looked at him. "Matt, I don't know. I fell in love with Puck for very different reasons, I..." Matt interrupted her. "I know...you're a witch and he's an all-powerful magical being that could give you anything your heart desires. Whereas, people...normal human beings can't." The last line was full of bitterness. Abby stared at him, stunned. "Matt, because you are angry I'm going to let that slid. I married Puck because we both love each other, NOT because he picked me up from a train! Or because he's Fey...and how dare you say or think that! I come from the poorest of America and was settled on that life. Just because my father has all the money doesn't mean my grandfather and I saw lots of it. Oh and another thing, Puck is more human that any MAN I've ever known. He has been more supportive than any "human" and he cares about this world enough that he was punished severely for it. So don't tell me about sacrifice or question me about who I married." Abby took a breath and whispered, "I think you should go Matt." Matt saw that he had struck a cord. Elisa never told him that she had always lived with her grandfather and not Xanatos. He felt like a heel. "I'm sorry." He got up and Abby followed him out but before leaving he asked again. "Would you have?" Abby answered completely enraged. "No...I don't date cops because they always end up dying or married to their work." With that Abby slammed the door. Matt could hear muffled screams and curses coming from behind the door. He shook his head and walked to find Elisa. Puck came into the hallway to see Matt walking down the hall in the opposite direction. He opened the door to his apartment. He was watching Matt and didn't notice Abby throw something. The nerf ball hit Puck in the head. "Matt...get Outthhh gods Puck I'm sorry." She walked over to him. Puck had one eye closed, while he was rubbed the side of his head. He was looking at her, through one good eye with a dazed look. "Ouch." Abby took his hand away from his head to see a red mark right above his eye. He went back to rubbing it and hiccuped. Abby asked. "Are you drunk?" Puck opened both eyes wide to look at Abby with a wild smile. "Not yet...but verrrryy close." Abby gave him a weak smile. She leaned forward and gently put her finger on his mark and it disappeared. He looked alittle clearer but not much. He noticed his wife's sad smile and even sadder eyes. He moved them into the apartment more and closed the door. He tried to clear his head as much as possible. "What's wrong? Did Matt hurt you? Touch you?" Abby just looked down and shook her head. She didn't want to talk about it but she knew Puck would not let it go. So, she told him what happened. Puck tried to focus but Abby could see that he was getting angry. By the time she finished he was completely sober and started to walk to the door. "I'll...I'll turn him into a frog!" Abby walked up to him. "No...I hurt his ego enough. Let's just forget it. I just want to go on vacation and forget about this place for awhile. All that matters for the next two weeks is us." Puck let out a sigh and wiped the tears that went unchecked down her face. "All right, sweetie. Please don't cry. I hate to see you upset and for the past few months you have been soo upset." Abby nodded. "I'm sorry...I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm just soo tired." Puck picked Abby up in his arms. "Well, then let your prince charming wisk you off to bed so you can sleep...while I take care of the children and chores." Puck saw Abby's beautiful smile return and he felt happy again. No sooner did he lay her down on the bed was she sleeping. He ran his fingers through her hair and just watched her sleep. Puck noticed that there were clothes all over the room. It must have been Abby trying to decide what to pack. He snapped his fingers and two suitcases fully packed and ready to go appeared. Since there wasn't anything else he could do here he kissed Abby's forehead and walked to find the kids. Elisa was driving, correction trying to drive through downtown Manhattan traffic. She had noticed that Matt was being especially quiet...and being such a good partner she decided to poke. "So, Matt, what's up with ya?" Matt just looked at her. "What do you mean?" Elisa continued to drive. "You have been in outer space since we left the castle...did Abby say something?" Matt chuckled. "Yeah...she said a lot. Did I ever tell you that I had a crush on her?" Elisa tried to look at him. " uhhh no, you didn't..." "I did...still do...well I asked her..." Matt continued to tell his story and he finished just as quickly. Elisa just couldn't believe that he did that. "What were you thinking?!" Matt shook his head. "I don't know." No sooner had he finished did thunder roll and the rain begin to come down. The next day... The thunderstorm had lasted all night and straight through the day. The night sky was cloudy but it wasn't raining so Puck thought it would be ok to go. Luna sat on her parent's bed with little Tori in her arms. Abby was tearing through every drawer in the room to pack for Puck and her vacation. Being a girl, the two suitcases that Puck packed just weren't enough she needed more outfits, just in case. Luna opened the suitcase just as Abby threw a shirt in that direction. Tori rubbed her eyes and yawned, looking up at Luna. "I know this is boring...but just bear with it." Tori let out a sigh and continued to watch their mother make a verbal list of items she didn't want to forget. "Mom?" "yeah, Luna?" "How long are you going to be gone?" Abby placed a pair of shorts in the suitcase. "Two weeks. Why?" Luna just shrugged. "Will you call us?" Abby smiled. "Every chance I get. This is just a vacation Luna...we will be back." Luna answered. "I know, but you have never gone away before like this...did we do something wrong?" Abby sat on the bed and wrapped her arms around Luna and Tori. "My girls, you did nothing wrong. Your father and I have been stressed lately and we need a place to relax." Luna nodded and Tori sneezed, making Abby and Luna chuckle. A bolt of lightening streaked the sky followed by thunder that shook the castle. Tori began to cry. Abby took her from Luna and rocked her. "Come." Abby took Luna's hand and walked to the kitchen. Elisa and Goliath were in bed together enjoying the sound of the rain. Elisa snuggled closer and rested her head on Goliath's chest. Goliath ran his talons through her hair and smiled. The castle was quiet and peaceful; neither knew the chaos that was going on in the den. Ennis was hiding under the couch and refused to get out. Broadway and Angela were on their knees looking under at him. "Ennis, it is only a storm, I promise nothing will happen," begged Angela. Ennis just closed his wings around him and whimpered. Broadway tried but to no avail. "I hope Brook and Lex get back soon...this storm is looking pretty bad." Abby, carrying Tori, and Luna were walking by the den but stopped. Abby looked at Broadway and Angela. She placed Tori on a pile of blankets and pillows and asked, "You guys, ok?" Another flash of lightening and an even louder roll of thunder crashed, making Ennis cry more, but then he heard crying. He opened his wings alittle to see Abby walk over to a pile of blankets and soothe a baby. It was Tori. She was scared too just like him. "I'll be right back. I think she needs a bottle," said Abby and disappeared. Ennis was watching his mother walk over to Tori and hush her softly but Tori kept crying. Ennis' protective instinct began to kick in. He didn't like to see Tori cry; he sniffled and stuck his head out from under the couch. Broadway was watching Angela so he didn't see Ennis climb out and walk to Tori until he passed him. "Hey Ennis." Ennis turned toward his father and smiled. He ran to the blankets and plopped down so he could see Tori. He looked up to his mother with sad eyes. "No cry. Stop." Angela rubbed the tears from Ennis's face. "I can't. Her momma is coming with food." Ennis crawled next to Tori and laid on his stomach with one dark turquoise wing over her. Tori crying started to slow down. She looked at Ennis who was smiling and she tried to smile but hiccuped instead. Ennis remembered a song Angela sang to him when he was sad. He didn't remember the words but he knew the melody. In his little baby voice he tried to sing the song to Tori. Tori had stopped crying and she was watching Ennis with curious eyes. He stroked her forehead with his knuckles like his mother did to him as Abby, Puck, Alex, and Luna walked in. "Look at that," whispered Abby. Ennis continued the lullaby until Tori was fast asleep. He bent down and kissed Tori's head. Abby put her arms out and Ennis climbed into them. She hugged him. "Thank you Ennis. You did a good job." Puck poked Ennis playfully in the stomach. "I think Ennis likes Tori." Ennis blushed and wrapped his arms around Abby's neck to hide his face. Everyone smiled. Abby gave Ennis back to Angela and took Tori to bed. Puck put his hand on Abby's shoulder. "Abby, maybe we should wait. I don't like the storm." Abby shrugged. "Puck, it's alittle thunder...we have transported in storms before." Puck smiled, taking Tori from her. "True...ok go get the suitcases and I'll round up everyone." Abby nodded and walked to the apartment. All the gargoyles and children were sitting in the library waiting for Abby and Puck. Abby came in first, carrying one suitcase with Brooklyn walking in behind her with the other suitcase. He put it down and hugged Abby. "I hope you have a great vacation. You deserve it." Abby hugged Brook back. "Thanks." Puck flew in and sat mid-air next to Abby. "Ready?" Abby nodded. "Almost." Both Puck and her went to their children and hugged them tight. Luna sniffled. "Mom...please don't go." Abby kissed her cheek. "Luna we talked about this. I'll be back, I promise. Robin you be good too." She kissed him on the cheek. Robin nodded. Abby walked over to Angela, who was holding Tori. Abby took Tori in her arms. "Night Tori...you be good for aunt Angela." The baby just looked at her mother and smiled. Abby kissed her and gave her back to Angela. Abby hugged everyone good-bye, including little Ennis. Puck gave the twins a big bear hug and kissed them. "Be good, if I hear about one prank...make it a good one...because you'll be grounded for a long time." The kids nodded and Puck smiled, tickling them. He kissed Tori and turned to Abby. Puck held out his hand and Abby took it. "I'm ready," she smiled. Puck waved at the group and lifted his hands to the ceiling. A green light surrounded them and they began to disappear. All of a sudden a lightening bolt cracked through the sky and the gargoyles and children saw the green light turn black and fall to the ground like fog and dissipate. Xanatos looked at Luna. "Was that supposed to happen?" Luna just shrugged and looked at the spot where her parents were standing. No one saw alittle ball of blue light float out of the library and into Zoe's room, where she was sleeping soundly. The light flew into an earring that Zoe was wearing and throbbed its blue light a few times before becoming dormant. Abby opened her eyes to see Matt looking at her. "Honey, are you ok?" Abby gave him a weird look. "I think so. Why did you call me honey?" Matt laughed. "I've called you that for the past seven years...John and I were playing and you got hit in the head." She looked at Matt again to notice that he was in shorts and a polo shirt and they were at the farm and not the castle. This was too much for her and she knew how to do just one thing: pass out. Abby could hear sounds. No, voices, Matt and another man were talking about her. She heard the man say that she got hit on the head pretty bad and seems to have amnesia...but it will go away. 'Away?! I don't want it to go away. Where is Puck? Where are the kids? It couldn't have been a dream...could it?' Abby thought. She opened her eyes to see she was in her grandfather's room but it was all changed. The furniture should have been all dark oak but it was light wicker. It seemed like a couple's room. Moving slowly as to not attract attention from the men outside she slid into the bathroom and locked the door. Abby felt dirty and cold all over her body. She turned on the water to take a nice hot shower. "See Mr. Bluestone. Your wife will be fine...I think the bonk on the head just caused a bit disorientation. It should go away in a couple of days. Just talk to her...answer any question she asks no matter how strange...it may help." Matt shook the doctor's hand and thanked him. Matt paced until he heard Abby dress and sit on the rocking chair by their bed. He slowly opened the door. "Abby?" Abby stood up. "Yeah?" "Can I come in?" "I guess so." He came in and sat in the rocking chair as Abby turned and sat on the bed. Abby put her hand on her lap. "Where's my grandfather?" Matt was shocked, but the doctor said to answer any question. "Don't you remember? Petros died two years ago and left you this house. We came here to live and raise John." Abby nodded with tears in her eyes. She didn't look up from her hands. "And my father?" Matt again was shocked. "What about him? You haven't talked to him in ten years. You said that you didn't want to have anything to do with him...of course you talk to your brother and sister. But..." Abby looked up. "Sister?" Matt let out a frustrated sigh. "Yeah...Anita. She's two years younger than Alex. Would you like an update on everyone?" Abby nodded. Matt took a deep breath. "Ok, umm Goliath and Elisa are living together at the castle and are going to get married next month. Lex and Brook are still single but they have gotten together and started creating modern amour and weapons to use against the quarrymen..." Abby interrupted. "I thought gargoyles didn't use weapons?" "They have been for awhile...ever since the Quarrymen kidnapped Elisa last year. Anyway, Broadway and Angela have become life partners and they just had a baby boy named Ennis...um who else?" Abby swallowed the knot that was building up her throat. "Owen?" Matt snapped his fingers. "Yeah Owen...oh he's fine...still stiff and boring. He's been depressed lately though. Elisa said that Xanatos actually made him go on a vacation, but he just came back more depressed. I don't blame the guy...stuck with Xanatos all day and all night. No girlfriend and he's got that stone fist." Matt finished and he noticed that she was sniffling. "Sweetie?" "I'm ok...it's just hazy." There was a knock at the door and John peeked in, He looked at a lot like Matt but had Abby's hair and eyes. "Is Mom ok?" Matt smiled. "Yeah, she's doing better...I'll go make us some dinner." He left and John and Abby were just staring at each other. Abby didn't know what to say or do. "uhh...hi John." "Hi Mom." He slowly walked with his arms behind his back and head down toward her. "Are you ok?" Abby lifted his head. "Yeah. Just confused right now." John was biting his lip and then gave her a hug. Abby hesitated at first but soon wrapped her arms around him. The boy was alittle tense. "What's wrong John?" John looked at her. "You look like my mother, sound like her and even smell like her...but you're not my mom." "How do you know?" Abby was scared. Did he really know? "Your ors are different? When you got hit they changed." "Ors? You mean auras." The little boy nodded. So this wasn't a dream...She was somehow transported to another world. She thought and thought, then mentally hit herself in the head. The thunderstorm. Somehow the lightening must have messed up the transpiration spell and sent her back in time...but if she was there...what happened to Puck? Puck fell out of the blue portal and onto the ground. The twins quickly ran to him yelling out 'dad.' Puck opened his eyes. "Where? Where's Abby?!" Abby spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the farm with John. This was too weird for her. As night fell, Abby stayed on the couch watching television. At least something didn't change. Abby pretended to fall asleep on the couch. When she heard Matt close the bedroom door, rather loudly, she got up and fixed a real dinner. The salad stuff was just not going to hold her...and now that Puck had taught her a weight loss spell she could have her cake and eat it too. She got out the cold cuts and made herself a turkey and cheese sandwich with a pickle and diet coke. She ate quickly and cleaned up. She went back to the couch and fell asleep a bit more comfortable, Her sleep was interrupted. She heard someone yelling, "Hey! Hey! Yeah, I'm talking to you." Abby opened her eyes to see she was in room similar to an Arabian harem. There were colorful drapes that hung from the ceiling and huge human-sized pillows everywhere. Abby tripped a couple times trying to find the voice. She had to be dreaming. "Where am I?" "In MY hell!." Abby let her jaw drop. It was her...well another her anyway. It was the housewife Abby. She had on a pink sundress that just went past her knees. Her hair was up in a refined bun. Her white sandals were perfectly clean and polished. "What did you say?" The other Abby rolled her eyes. "You took over my body! And left me here!" The reality clicked all too quickly. "You mean that you are me and that my soul is sharing your body?" "Yes, we have winner. Now if you would be so kind as to leave my body." Abby never knew she could be so cold or angry then she remembered snapping at the twins in the kitchen. "I don't know how. Anyway, I have to find Puck to fix this mess. He's the only one who would know how to fix it." "Who's Puck?" "That's Owen's alter-ego." "Owen? You mean that stiff unemotional hack that works for my no good father?" Abby sighed. "Yeah...him. I have to find him in order to do that, you, we have to talk to dad." Abby two crossed her arms. "Are you nuts? He is a ruthless heartless human being and Alex and Anita are starting to turn out just like him." Abby got defensive. "How do you know that? What about the gargoyles? Huh? Maybe if you were in their lives things could have changed...maybe you would have seen Ennis' birth. You missed soo much because you think dad hates you...and he doesn't. Wait! Who's Anita? Wait, the sister." Abby two let her arms fall to her sides and she looked confused. "Yeah, our sister, you idiot. Who are you anyway?" "I'm you...but from another place where things are sooo different. Can I ask you a personal question?" Abby two fell to one of the couches and got comfortable. "Sure...why not?" "How did you and Matt meet?" Abby sat on the pillow across from Abby 2. At the sound of Matt's name, Abby two's face became soft and brighter. She smiled and Abby knew that she was in love, for that was the face she made when anyone mentioned Puck. Abby shrugged away the chill running down her spine as Abby two answered, "Well, I got the part of Puck in the NY Shakespearean festival and I didn't know anyone so I went to the fair and meet Elisa and Matt. Matt offered asked me out a couple hours later, I accepted and ended up spending the summer in his extra bedroom. Well, by the end of the summer we were sharing a bed. Mom was soo mad." Abby put her hands up. "Wait, mom?" Abby shrugged. "Yeah, mom, yea know. One who gave birth to us.... divorced dad and has her own art gallery in Manhattan." Abby two noticed Abby one was going to cry. "What? Did I say something?" Abby shook her head. "In my world, I never meet my mother...she died bring me into the world." Abby two put her hand over her mouth. She could not imagine that life. "Who raised you?" Abby wiped he eyes and seemed to recover. "My grandfather Petros, then when I went to the city I forgave dad and have been living in the castle ever since. That is until tonight. I miss my husband and children...I want to be in bed at home. I'll never complain about my life again!" Abby put her head down and cried. Abby two moved over and ran her hand over her Abby one's head to comfort her. "Maybe this was meant to be. Maybe this is your chance to meet mom...to right some wrongs...gods know there are enough of them. Maybe you were sent to me so I would make up with dad. John does need his family. I also have noticed his powers peaking. I'm been trying so hard to keep them dormant. John doesn't need the teasing that mother and I got in this small town. Plus, Matt made me promise not to use my magic...so I've let it slowly become dormant." Abby looked up. "You gave it up?! That's Impossible." Abby two shook her head. "No...it's not, but it's very hard. Especially when you feel things around you and want to just cut loose and talk to the animals or sun." "I know...in my world that's hard because my children's father is Puck, who is one of the Fey. " Abby two nodded. "I knew there was something about you I sensed." Abby one smiled. "John is a fine boy. He is exactly what I thought my son would be like but I got Tori instead, but I couldn't be happier for it. She is such a joy just like the twins." "Tomorrow tell Matt that it's time to go to the city and see mom. It's the only way you are going to get him to go back to the city to be closed enough to dad." "Thank you," Abby said as she wrapped her arms around Abby two's neck. They rocked together comforting their sorrows. Abby woke up on the couch to see little John sitting on the coffee table across from her. "Morning, mo..." Abby smiled. "mo?" John blushed. "I was going to call you mom...but you're not." Abby sat up and stretched. "Well, technically, yes I am, just a different soul right now." She saw his face go soft and upset. "What?" "Where's my mom then?" Abby put her arms out and John embraced her. She laid his head near her heart. "She's right there...sleeping and dreaming about you." She was rewarded by John's smile. John gave her another hug. "Dad's fixing breakfast. You want some pancakes." Abby smiled. "Do fish love water...of course I do!" Jon ran into the kitchen. "Hey there." called Matt. Abby smiled back and sat down at the table. He placed a plate of pancakes in front of Abby. "Hope you're hungry." "Starved! Thanks." "No problem sweetheart." Matt kissed her seductively on the neck, which awoke Abby 2. She was mad. Abby could hear Abby 2 yelling and screaming in her head. It was giving her a headache. John noticed the two souls flaring up. He giggled then quickly was quiet. Abby raised both eyebrows at him and mentally pushed him. Abby forgot he wasn't used to magic and John fell out of his seat. Abby grabbed him. "Whoops...sorry about that." John smiled. "You 'gotta' teach me how you do that?" "Do what?" Matt said as he put another plate of pancakes in front of John this time. John saw that Abby was a loss for words and quickly lied. "The tongue thing, dad." Matt chuckled and twisted his tongue. "Like that?" John and Abby giggled. "That's it dad." Abby bite into her pancakes and looked at John. 'Matt doesn't like magic does he?' John furrowed his brow and looked behind him. He had heard someone in his head. "What?" Matt turned around. "I didn't say anything." Abby swallowed. "Me either." But John saw her wink. 'Think about the words you want to say and push them to me.' John closed his eyes and tried all Abby got was: 'Did...Y..sa...y..some...tin..' Abby smiled. 'That was pretty good for your first time...we'll have to work on it though. But I was talking to you. Your dad doesn't like magic?' John looked at his father than back to Abby and shook his head. 'No..he..maade..mom..promiz..not...toooooo.use it.' He let out the breath he was holding to concentrate. "Why?" John shrugged and stuffed his mouth with pancakes. Abby made a note to find out why later. Matt sat at the table to eat his own breakfast. "So, what shall we do for our vacation?" John looked at Abby. "Can we go see grandma? I want to go to the Mets game with her. She promised next time I came she would take me." Matt looked at his son. "Well, I GUESS that would be fun...Abby?" Abby smiled. "I think that's a great idea. When is the last time I saw my mother? It will be fun." Matt nodded. "Ok." Abby smiled at John. 'Thanks kiddo.' John smiled back. 'No problem. I'm getting good at this mind reading thing.' Abby quickly bite into some pancakes to stop herself from laughing out loud. That night... John snuggled under Abby's chin on the ride down to the city. Matt was tired, but he was more concerned why Abby wanted to see her mother. It would be nice to see the gargoyles and Elisa again but not Xanatos. He looked at Abby and John...his family. John was growing up so fast and he was still in love with Abby, even though they were a good ten years apart. Matt felt Abby was on his level: both mentally and passionately. She was smart enough that they could talk about anything, but after that accident she changed. She was a bit more of a trickster. He shook his head and kept driving, while Abby joined John in a nap. Abby quickly woke up to a loud honk. She jerked up to see they were on the FDR heading into Manhattan and like it is 24-7-365 there was bumper-to-bumper traffic. John had crawled into the back seat and continued to sleep. Abby was excited. Soon she would be back in the castle...see Puck and finally get this mess taken care of. She was ok until a sick empty feeling entered her stomach. She had forgotten one thing: her mother. She was alive in this world. She looked over at Matt whose hair was all ruffled. She smiled at him. "Hey Matt." Matt sprang back to life. "Yeah." "How much longer?" Matt looked into the sea of red brake lights. "About 45 minutes. Maybe you should call her now." Abby smiled. "Ok." She picked up the car phone and opened it. She stared at it for a few seconds before Abby two sighed in her head. 'The number is 212-664-4453.' Abby nodded and dialed the number. Her mouth was dry and the hole in her stomach was growing. Abby heard a click and woman answered. "Hello? Hello?" Abby took a deep breath. "Mom?" "Abby sweetie. How are you?" Abby was going to cry. "I'm good mom...um Matt, John, and I are coming to the city and I want to see you." "Sure...I'll be waiting for you." "Thanks Mom, we'll be there in about 45 minutes." "Sure thing. See ya soon, Bye." "Bye...Mom." Abby hung up the phone with the widest smile Matt had ever seen on her face. Tribeca Ravenstone hung up the phone wondering what was wrong with her daughter. She grabbed the closest rubber band and tied back her long black hair. Abby didn't sound fine...almost distant. She walked out of her living room and into her studio. Marrying David Xanatos may have not been the smartest thing she could have done, but divorcing him had its perks. They both were in love but as they matured it became clear that weren't meant to be together. David had gone off to college leaving her alone with Petros to raise Abby. Petros was kind enough to watch Abby as she went to the local college to get her degree in Fine Arts. Four years later, David came back to tell them that he wanted to go further in his education with some new found money that he secretly acquired. He left her. Tribeca had been so mad. She had given up everything for him and this is how he repaid her. With Petros' help, she packed up her bags and Abby to move to New York to live with her parents. She went to Columbia and got her Masters and Phd, sending Abby to the best schools and Maine during the summer to be with her grandfather. And just to spite David, she asked for a divorce. She had heard rumors that he was dating another woman and since they never were formally divorced, he would be coming around soon enough. She won her daughter and over 5 million dollars; which she used to start an art gallery. Now, she was a top art dealer and artist in New York. She could sell any painting even her own for no less that 100,000 dollars...American money. But, Abby had gotten the worst out of the deal for butlers, helpers, and grandparents raised her. David had wanted to have a relationship with Abby but Tribeca had been so hurt she told Abby horrible things about him so she never wanted to go see him. She regretted doing it now. She blamed herself for Abby's marriage to Matt. He was the first real man figure in her life and she grabbed him. They were happy but for how much longer could that last? Tribeca and David were too young but Matt was different. She had read in the Daily Taddler that David had married the red-headed woman he was dating when they divorced and now had two kids, a boy and a girl. They asked Abby to live with them but Abby didn't want to be around them, so she moved in with her grandfather Petros. Abby and her had a good relationship it was more of a sisterly one than a mother-daughter. That changed when Matt entered the picture. Beca remembered trying to get Abby to change her mind. She was too young. She didn't want her daughter making the same mistakes she did in her life. Abby didn't listen and left with Matt. It had hurt until she heard she was going to be a grandmother. She always had a smile on her face and a picture of John in her purse. David was excited but he knew that it was going to take a miracle to see the baby. Beca sat down on a stool and picked up a brush. Her magic was focused in her art. She had wanted Abby to follow in her footsteps and learn the arts but Abby was too engrossed in 'fitting in.' So, when she married Matt, Abby told Beca that she was giving up her magic. Beca waited for the phone call that Abby had died, for a witch that doesn't use her magick will wither and die from within. But that call never came and when she first looked at her grandson she knew why. Abby used her magic unknowingly to protect John and keep him well. John would take up the arts both art and magick. Abby couldn't hide that or protect him from his own blood. Beca put down the brush and smiled. She better go get the rooms ready for company. John ran to the door and hit the doorbell. Tribeca opened the door and yelled. "John!" "Grandma!" John jumped into her arms and hugged her tight. Abby and Matt, both carrying suitcases, walked up to Tribeca, Abby looked at her mother very carefully. She looked a lot like her but her mother had long straight black hair. She was very thin but had a commanding face. The woman opened her arms and gave her a big hug and gave them each a kiss before inviting them into the house. Abby looked around the house. It was very classy. A brownstone right by Central Park. The room was lit with candles right now and deep red carpets filled every room. "Abby?" Abby looked up into her mother's eyes. "I'm fine mom." Her mother nodded, not quite believing her. "Matt and Abby you are in your regular room. I'll put my little prince to bed." Mat nodded and Abby watched her walk up the stairs with John. Matt nudged her. "Come on upstairs." Abby smiled and followed him up. The room was just as classy as the rest of the house with a Van Gogh painting above the fireplace. She put her bag down and walked to the balcony. She was just beginning to relax when arms wrapped around her waist. It was Matt. He kissed her neck. "Beautiful night, isn't it?" Abby nodded. "Yeah...I had almost forgotten." Matt turned her around and kissed her. Abby protested at first but Abby two wouldn't let her. She finally pulled away. "Matt, I'm tired." Matt just nodded. "Yeah...me too. You didn't drive 16 hours today." He poked her playfully. She giggled and walked to get ready for bed. Tribeca had gotten John into bed and was humming a lullaby to him. John wanted to try out his newfound skill to see what his grandmother would say. So, when he thought she wasn't paying attention he began to concentrate. Grandma, look what I can do? Beca stopped and looked at John. "Sweetie, how did you do that?" "Mom taught me." He saw his grandma's face go into that of shock. John put his hand on hers. "Can you keep a secret from dad?" Beca nodded. "Yes...what is it?" John told her everything about Abby and their situation. Tribeca just listened with wide-eyes. "Is that so?" John nodded his head. She leaned over and kissed him. "Goodnight John, don't worry I'll help you." John smiled and turned on his side to go to sleep. She quietly left he room and walked down the hallway thinking about what John had told her. Abby was able to sneak away from Matt to go eat something in the kitchen. Tribeca entered and she saw Abby jump. "Sorry mom...you scared me." Tribeca nodded and sat on the kitchen chair. "John told me." Abby was about to say 'what' when she looked at her mother's face and she knew. "Oh...that. yeah, well I was going to tell you." Abby sat down next to her mother and took a bite out of her sandwich. Tribeca watched her and saw the two auras flaring up. Abby finished and continued. "I just wanted to see you. In my world, you died giving birth to me." Tribeca touched her daughter's cheek. "Do you know how this happened?" Abby shrugged. "I think it was the lightening the night I left with Puck...something went wrong with the transportation spell." Tribeca scratched her chin. "Is it just your soul...or body too?" Abby nodded. "Just soul." Tribeca motioned Abby to follow her and she did. Tribeca took a key from around her neck and opened a door. Abby was shocked. "You have an alter room?" Tribeca nodded. "Of course, all witches do." Abby smiled. "Well, not all. I've been around the Fey too long to use objects to do magic. I use my imagination." Tribeca smiled. "I'm glad to hear that one of you is using what I gave you." Abby smiled but Tribeca could see one aura flare up red, most likely her daughter's. "SO, what do we need to do?" Abby walked up to the table and ran her hand over the blue velvet rug that draped over the marble alter. "I'm not sure. I know only Puck can fix it though. It was Fey magic." Tribeca nodded. "True. That means you have to go see your father." Abby smiled. "I know." Tribeca walked over to the phone and picked it up. "Well?" Abby walked over to her. "Now! I don't know what to say." Tribeca took Abby's hand and placed the receiver in it. Abby sighed and dialed the number. She tried to remember what she told her father all those years ago. On the third ring, Fox picked up. "Hello?" Abby swallowed. "Hello, Fox?" "Yeah...who's this?" "It's Abby...David's daughter." Abby heard silence on the other end. She hoped that Fox hadn't hung-up. "Fox?" "Yeah I'm here. Just alittle stunned. How are you?" "I'm good. Yourself?" "Other than shocked...fine." Fox and Abby giggled. Abby cleared her throat. "Is Dad there?" "Yeah, sure. Let me get him." Abby heard Fox walk away and then the sound of footsteps on stone come closer. "Hello?" "Hi Dad, it's Abby." "Hey sweetie. How are you? Is everything ok?" "Oh yeah. I..um..miss you. I know I've been difficult over the years but I've realized that I need you in my life and so does John." There was silence again. "Dad?" "Yeah, I'm here. Sweetie, you know you are welcomed here anytime. How about lunch tomorrow?" "Dad that would be great! Thank you for this second chance." "No Abby, thank you." "Bye Dad." Abby hung up the phone and looked at her mother. "Lunch tomorrow." Tribeca nodded without a smile. "Well, then let's look at some of my books to see what we are dealing with." David hung up the phone and looked at Fox who was braiding Anita's long brown hair. "Dad, you ok?" David smiled. "Yeah, your big sister is coming for a visit and I'm happy." Anita curled the rubber band in her hand. "I thought she hated us?" David shrugged and went to tell Owen and Alex of the guests. Matt wasn't thrilled about going to the Eyrie building, but Elisa had said that she would stop by later. It would be great to catch up on all he has missed. Although, he loved his life, he did hunger for the life on the streets again or sitting behind the desk of the Gargoyles Task Force. A job where he got paid to do nothing. The elevator dinged and Matt saw Xanatos, Fox, Alex and Anita standing and waiting for them. Abby stepped out with John and hugged her father. Xanatos was shocked but hugged back, then Abby hugged Alex and Anita. Everyone was shocked but within minutes they shrugged it off. David motioned for them to go to the luncheon. Abby took John's hand. "Dad, where is the bathroom?" David pointed. "Down the hall right by Owen's room." Abby smiled. "Thanks." "But mom, I don't..." John started to say but Abby mentally pushed him. He got up and followed Abby. Abby snuck into Owen's room with little John holding onto her hand. "Why are we here?" Abby looked at him and smiled. "Remember how I said that in my world I'm married to another man?" "Yeah?" "Well, Owen is my husband and father of my children....I guess in a way they are your brother and sisters." Little John smiled. "I have a brother...wow...you and dad only wanted one kid because of dad's work." Abby leaned down and kissed the top of his head. They both heard someone hiccup. They walked over to a couch to find a disheveled Owen laying on his stomach. His hair was a mess and an empty vodka bottle was in his flesh hand. Abby put her hand to her head. "Oh Puck what have you done to yourself?" Hearing his real name, Owen looked up to see a very attractive woman and a young boy looking at him. "What are you doing here?" Abby made out of his slurred speech. Abby walked over to him and helped him up to a sitting position. "I know this is going to sound very weird but I'm from another dimension where you and I are married." Owen became very sober very quickly. "Mrs. Bluestone...are you feeling ok?" Owen hadn't seen Abby in years so he didn't quite understand, but she got very mad. "Don't call me that! Please, we need your help." Owen straightened his tie. "We?" Abby pointed to the little boy at Owen's side. "John...in this world he is Matt and my son. He wants his mother back and I want to go home to my...our children." Owen just looked at her. "I think I'll get a doctor." He went to get up when Abby pulled him back. "I'm telling the truth!" She started to beg. "All I know is that yesterday I was kissing our daughters and son good-bye to go on a vacation YOU planned and now...now, I'm stuck in a world with a wonderful son but the wrong husband." Owen looked at her...really looked at her and noticed that there was something different about her. The Abby that he knew was quiet and reserved. She was the perfect housewife for Matt. Then the voice of Puck chimed in his head. "Her aura is completely different...maybe she is telling the truth." He cleared his throat. "I will go along with this even though I'm not sure I should, but what would you have me do? I am bound by Oberon's punishment." Abby smiled. "Loopholes, my dear Owen. Loopholes." Matt was sitting with Fox, David and Anita. Anita was staring at Matt with those ice-cold eyes. Anita was always the reserved one in the family. She inherited her father's determination and Fox's sly manner. Matt just hoped that she stayed on the good guys side. Fox and David were trying to make chitchat with Matt but he had never liked them so he was on a one-word answer streak. The he brightened up when Abby strolled into the yard and kissed her father and Matt on the cheek. "Hello all. Dad, I think I should have some quality time with my siblings. So, I'm going to take them to the Bronx Zoo. Is that ok?" David nodded. "Of course..are you sure you can handle the two of them?" Abby smiled at Anita who just wrinkled her nose. "If Owen goes with us, yeah I think I can. Lunn...oh, look at the time...we better get going? Matt are you going to come?" Matt stood up. "Can I talk to you?" "Sure," said Abby, alittle worried. They walked in the hallway and Matt started. "What the hell is wrong with you? You get hit in the head and you change. I feel like I don't know you anymore! And what is this with your father? All of a sudden you have an urge to be a part of him and his legacy...or was that someone else!" Abby tried to stay calm. "That bonk on the head brought me to my senses. I DO need my family. John needs a grandfather and John should have the right to know his family and the gargoyles!" Matt was taken aback. Abby had never yelled at him before and he didn't like it. He was finally happy with his job as assistant sheriff in Bar Harbor, Maine. He had a wife and a child..but now the wife wanted to shake up his world. "You selfish bitch..did you ask John what he wants..or are you speaking for him...well don't speak for me, ok?! You go to the zoo with your siblings. John and I are going home." Abby yelled. "Like hell you are! John is staying with me. He needs to get to know his aunt and uncle. Plus, I thought I'd show him around the castle and the magical artifacts my father has here..." "...to teach him witchcraft," answered Matt in a tone she didn't like to hear. "Yes, he has shown great potential and he came to me." "You said you gave that stuff up for me because all the problems it caused your dad?" Abby crossed her arms. She heard Abby 2 screaming in her head, Please don't tell him, please...I'll lose him. Abby said in response to her, 'Would you like to lose Matt or your soul...if you let the magic die...you die.' Abby 2 was quiet, so Abby said to Matt. "Do you love me?" Matt nodded. "Of course I do." "Then accept me for who I am. If I don't use my magic I will die...this discussion is over!" She turned and walked back into the dining hall leaving Matt alone in the hallway shocked and hurt. Abby walked back to the patio. "Let's go kids." Bronx Zoo............ John was having a great time at the Zoo. Alex was so much fun. Anita told John that their mentors' personality rubbed off on Alex. John also likes Anita. She acted all snotty and cold but she actually was a bit mischievous herself. The three ran to the monkey exhibit. Alex puffed out his cheeks and squatted down, jumping around pretending to be one. Anita and John laughed out loud as did some people who were walking pass. John looked over to see Abby and Owen walking very slowly towards them. "So, let me get this straight, Mrs. Bluestone..." "Abby." "Abby. I, in your world, casted a transportation spell to send us to Australia, but a lightening bolt got in the way and sent you here." "Right. Just my soul though, I don't know what happened to my body." Owen rubbed his chin. "That could be a problem. If the body did not attached to anything it would have died. So, if we did send you back you would die also, unless you possessed someone else." Owen watched Abby's face fall. "If my body died...oh gods. No, it has to have attached." She turned to Owen and stopped. She took his stone hand. "What can I do?" Owen sighed. "I'm not sure. We might have to consult Titania." Abby nodded. "Ok." She gave him a smile and ran her hands up his fist. To Owen's surprise, his fist returned to flesh. Abby smiled bigger as she saw Owen's face actually show emotion. "Your welcome." Owen just nodded. Abby looked up at the kids and laughed. Owen looked and saw Alex and he laughed too. Abby took Owen's, now flesh, hand. "Come on...let's not let my bad mood spoil this day. Abby two might be right, maybe I was sent here to fix some wrongs." Owen nodded. "John." Abby frowned and nodded in agreement. "Yeah. He needs you all so much not just magickly but emotionally." Owen began to walk with Abby. "Either way, he will be with us now." Abby watched John join Alex, imitating the monkeys. "We'll see." Many hours later, all the kids with Owen and Abby returned to the castle. They were exhausted, but it had been enough for Owen and Abby to talk about a possible way to get her out of the mess. Abby walked John to the guest room while Alex and Anita walked with Owen to their rooms. Abby helped John get into his pajamas and tucked him into bed. John giggled as Abby tickled him as she pulled the sheet tighter. "Did you have fun?" John smiled. " Yeah, those lemurs were so cool. And Alex and Anita are so much fun. Anita acts like Owen. She is cold on the outside but she has the hyperness in her eyes." Abby smiled. "Yeah I guess so." She kissed him. "Goodnight John." John smiled back. "Night Abby. Night Mom." Abby nodded and walked to Owen's room. She gently tapped on the door. When she heard Owen say, "Come in." She took a deep breath and opened the door. Just as she suspected, it was had been Puck using Owen's voice. It still felt weird to see Puck but not at the same time. He smiled. "Hey Abby. So, how does it feel?" Abby sat on the windowsill and picked up a pad of paper ad pencil and began to draw. "How does what feel?" "To be here?" Abby shrugged. "Weird but fun...as long as it's temporary, of course." She smiled. "Of course." Puck looked at Abby sitting on his windowsill. It was strange how 'natural' it felt to have her there. He cursed himself for not being born in her world or for that matter pretending to be busy the day he would have meet her in this world. He watched her as she continued to draw. As he walked up to her he asked, "Whatcha drawing?" Abby jumped. "Jeesh, Puck, I lost track of where I was. You scared me." Puck smiled. "Sorry." Abby smiled back. "No Problem." She turned the pad towards him. "In my world these are our children..Robin and Luna and Tori." Puck looked at the picture. It was very good. He looked at the children to see that they looked a lot like him. The oldest girl called Luna seemed to have his coloring. He felt a lump in his throat and walked away. Abby's smile turned into a frown. "What's wrong?" Puck sat down and looked at Abby. "What do you think?! You're telling me about my perfect life in another world...why couldn't it happen here. I need a drink." Abby jumped down and grabbed Puck's hand before he could touch the flask. "Don't you dare! Our life is not perfect. Puck and I have fights just like everyone else...and maybe you haven't found the right girl yet because you're never sober enough." Abby had known she went overboard as soon as she said it. Puck face went very hard. "Well, according to you...YOU are the perfect girl for me...and you're married to MATT. How do I know that you're even who you say you are, huh? How do I know if little miss Abby the homemaker got bored with her life and decided to create an adventure? A forbidden love story...and that's what we are...aren't we?" Abby crossed her arms and whispered. "You don't love me...so why should you care." She ran out of the room. Meanwhile, Puck stared wide-eyed into space. What had he done? Nothing. she wasn't his wife or love interest...she's matt's wife. Yet, he knew that he had crossed a line. He could see the two auras in her body. 'Ahh damn,' he thought as he got up to find her. Abby was sitting on a stone balcony overlooking the city. She felt soo weak. She heard Abby 2 plead. "I know it hurts but he is right...let me come out for awhile, you know we can do that. Let me be with my Matt before he leaves me." Abby nodded and laid down on the stone floor and went to sleep. As soon as she closed her eyes they flew open again. Abby jumped up with newfound energy, for now Abby was dormant and Abby 2 was in control. Matt sat in the library pissed off at his wife and the turn of events. He had to admit that John was happier than he had been in years. Maybe he did need his family, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with Abby. He was just about to get up when Abby came in front of him . He sat back down and she straddled him, kissing him hard, "I'm sorry I've been a pain lately...it's just I'm starting to need my family around...but I would like to make it up to you." She kissed down his neck. Matt took a deep breath and tried to exhale without sounding too needy. "Sure sweetheart." Puck walked down the hall until he heard giggling...Abby's giggle. He followed it until he got to Matt and Abby's room. He didn't have to open the door to know what they were doing. He saw little John, arms extended, making airplane noises running down the hall towards him. Puck quickly turned into Owen. "Hello John." John smiled. "Hi Owen! Why did you change. I know who you are?" "Old habit...let's go watch a movie. Your parents are talking." John looked at the door and chuckled. "Yeah, sure they are." Owen looked at the boy. "What?" "They aren't talking...they're wrestling...and daddy always wins." Owen had to bit his lip not burst out laughing. He liked this kid. "Forget the movie, how about some ice cream before the movie?" John smiled Abby's smile and Owen knew that was a 'yes.' After awhile both Matt and Abby had fallen asleep. Abby woke up to see her situation and almost yelled out. She quietly snuck into the bathroom and ran the shower extra hot. She could hear Abby 2 say in her hand. "oh give it up...you loved it." "I feel like I just cheated on my husband." "Impossible! You're in my body...my body, remember that ok?" The last of her sentence was more of a plea than a statement. Abby shook her head. "I'm not going to do anything with Puck if that's what you're worried about." She felt Abby 2 relax. After the shower, Abby walked into the kitchen to see Puck and John eating ice cream. Both had mustaches they were stuffing their faces so much. Abby burst into laughter that got the boys attention. She stopped in time to see the boys looking at her like, 'what's with her?' Abby shrugged. "What? You two look soo funny." John started to giggle. "Hey Abby want some?" Abby nodded and John shared his bowl with her. Puck wiped his mouth and just looked at her. "Why does he call you Abby?" Abby swallowed. "He can tell which soul is in control." Puck looked at John. "How?" "I'm a witch...but," she tapped her head, "my other self doesn't believe that witchcraft is suitable...although she is craving it so madly!" Puck took another bite. "Because of Matt?" Abby nodded and he snorted. "Figures." "Puck maybe you can help John. I know Fey and human magic works differently but the acts of concentration and meditation are the same. He hasn't had any of that training." Puck nodded. "Sure. it would be my pleasure. Alex and Anita are getting older so they don't listen they way they used too. It would be nice to have a nice young impressible person around." John sat closer to Abby and leaned so his head rested on her chest. Abby laughed and rubbed John's cheek. "He's kidding." John nodded. "DO the kids learn together were you are from?" Abby nodded. "Yep, all of them and sometimes Fox but Nimh taught her mostly." Puck's head shot up. "Nimh...as in cupid?" Abby nodded. "Yeah, he showed up a couple of months ago in my world." She chuckled. "And got himself into a pretty sticky situation." Puck was very intrigued. "Do tell." So, Abby told him everything...how it caused a fight between her Puck and herself, battle with Oberon, going back in time to find Shiela, and last but not least Nimh's pregnancy. "Puck, you ok?" Puck shook his head. "That's amazing. I always wondered what would happen if I put that belt on him. Now I know. Although in this world, Nimh has not shown up in centuries. I figured that he was dead. Nice to know he's not, even if it's not in this world." Abby nodded and brushed John's hair away from his face. "I know, many things are different but still similar to make me homesick." Back in Abby's world.......... "Where could she have gone?" asked Puck as he paced the Great Hall. He should have waited, but Abby had wanted to go soo bad that he went against his better judgment. He wanted to tell her, 'I told you so' but right now he would settle for 'hello' or 'I love you and NEVER disappear like that again!' His powers were soo weak he knew that is was going to take a miracle to find out what happened. The only thing he could do is go to sleep and regain his strength and began the search tomorrow at dawn. He walked slowly to his bedroom and laid on Abby's side to hug her pillow. HE closed his eyes and wished with all his might that when he woke up she would be there. In the kitchen, Brooklyn had Ennis in his lap as Angela made his bottle. Alex, Luna and Robin watched as Tori slept peacefully in Hudson's arms. Broadway, Lex and Goliath had gone out on patrol. Brooklyn looked at Luna and Robin. "Don't worry...she'll be back. We'll find her." Robin nodded but Luna just sniffled. She had just told her mother last night that she didn't want her to go. She had a bad feeling, but her mother didn't listen. This was Abby and Puck's first vacation without the kids for a time longer than a day...and now they may never see her again. That was too much for Luna and she ran crying to her room. Angela was about to go after her when Robin put his hand up. "Let her go, she needs to let off some stream or she'll start throwing things." Brooklyn looked at Tori and hoped that she would be able to know how wonderful her mother was...is...is!!. What was he thinking. She could be just hiding or lost...not dead...he hoped. Robin must have read his mind because he got up and took Tori from Hudson and left without a word. Luna ran into the apartment crying hysterically. Puck was immediately awake and opened his door to see Luna lying on the floor with her hands over her face, crying so hard she was gasping for air. Puck knelt down and picked her up hugging her tight. He carried her to his room and laid her down in the bed. Her hands still covered her face as she cried. Puck pulled a blanket over them and he laid with his daughter, wrapped in his arms. "Don't cry Luna, please. Don't cry. I'll find mom." As her crying slowed, Luna hiccupped and turned to look at her father's face. He was crying too but Luna could see he was trying to stay strong for her. "You can cry too daddy...it's ok." She had stopped crying but still gasped for breaths. Puck ran his hand through her curly white hair and kissed her forehead "I know it is...it just hurts right now." Luna nodded and Puck feared she was going to start crying again. Instead, she turned and wrapped her arms around him and held on tight. Puck hugged her close and hummed Abby's favorite song, "Angel" by Sarah McLaughlin. Luna hummed with him and it comforted them enough to fall asleep. Zoe was laying on her back in the middle of field. A light breeze tickled her bare arms and caressed her red hair. She sat up to enjoy the fresh air when she realized she was not alone. She gasped to see it was Brooklyn. His hands were behind his head as he napped in the sun with his trademark sunglasses. Zoe's shocked face went to anger. "Damn it! I'm dreaming again!" She hit the ground so hard it woke Brooklyn. "Hey, Babe. what's wrong." Zoe growled. "Nothing...just bug off!" She waved her hands and he disappeared. Now she was stuck in her dream world until she either made something up or woke up. She walked through the field until she came to a lake. Zoe sat at the edge of the dock that appeared and stuck her feet in the water. Just when she was starting to like her new surroundings, she heard a whisper in the wind. "Zoe? Is that you?" Zoe raised an eyebrow. "Uhhh yeah. who are you?" "It's me Abby..well part of me anyway." "Uh?" "Follow the hawk." Zoe was about to say, 'what hawk?' when a beautiful rust colored hawk with golden eyes and beak appeared before her. She got up and ran after it. She followed the hawk until it came to a box of water. It had to be at least eight feet tall. "What the hell is this? I didn't dream this up?" "No, I did. It was the only way to save myself." Zoe heard the disembodied voice say. The hawk shrieked and flew into the water wall. Zoe put her hand on the surface of the water. She slowly slid her hand into the silvery liquid. It was so cold yet she didn't feel wet. She pulled her hand her hand out to see it was turning blue from the cold. She shook it a few times and the blood rushed to her hand. "Who are you?" "Jeezz Zoe, do I have to spell it out for you?" Zoe's eyes snapped open. "Abby?! It really is you." "Ding, Ding, Ding...we have a winner." Zoe looked around. "Where are you? Puck has been worried sick...we all have been." The wall of water began to shake and shrink. Zoe backed away as the wall formed a human body...Abby's body. Yet, something was wrong with it. She was pale white and her eyes were clear as if she were blind. Even her once black hair was chalky white. Zoe was reminded of Puck. "What's wrong with you?" Abby looked around...or Zoe thought she did because she moved her head in certain directions. "When Puck transported us the lightening struck me and split my body and soul. My soul went somewhere else and my body would have died but I grabbed onto the first person I saw...you." "Me? But how come you are in my dream?" "Because that's the plane I was in...it's kind of like a worm hole. I attached to your soul until we get mine back. You will only see me in your dreams, I promise. Don't tell Puck though...who knows what he might try." Zoe nodded. "That's true. From what I heard from Brook, soul transference is tricky." Abby's body smiled. "I agree....don't worry my soul will work very hard to get back...you just be ready when tell you...or you may get alittle more than you expect." "Like what?" Zoe asked then yelled as Abby's body disappeared and was replaced by an ear-piercing beeping. Zoe put her hands over her ears and fell to the ground. She suddenly woke up and hit alarm clock, shattering into tiny little pieces. Zoe looked again at her clock and wiped the sweat from her face. She laid back down and wondered if it was all a dream. Later that morning..... Zoe walked into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee before she went to work. She saw Puck sitting at the table with so many books. His white hair was all tangled and he had bags under his eyes. For first time, Puck looked tired. She touched his shoulder. "Puck?" Puck jumped, spilling his coffee on his tunic. "Ahhh damn..hey Zoe." Zoe handed him a towel. "Puck could I ask you a hypothetical question?" Puck rubbed his neck and blinked his eyes. "I guess so." Zoe sat down as Puck did the same. "Well, what if someone got separated from their body and let's say the soul went somewhere..." Puck wiped some coffee off the books. "The body would die then." Zoe sipped her coffee. "I know that. But, what if when the body was split it went on another plane and the body attached itself to the soul of another person, and then all of a sudden the soul came back. What would happen?" Puck scratched his head and yawned. "Well, the soul would go back to the body, but if the host soul, in this case, didn't break away at the right time the body would break through the host." "The body would explode?!" Zoe screamed. Puck nodded. "How would you stop that?" Puck put his arms on the table, palms up, and asked. "Why are you asking all these questions?" Zoe shrugged. "It's something we were talking about last night. Tribeca is taking a logic course and that is the scenario she made up but I wanted to get it from a magical point of view." Puck rubbed his eyes. "Oh..logic..nasty thing you know. Well, the soul does not just attach to the host soul...it attaches to a piece...usually an artifact or gift that the host got from the victim. Or hair...it's light enough for a body to grab....you'll know because you'll get this pressure feeling in the pit of your stomach then. POP!" Puck took Zoe's cup of coffee and took a sip then handed it back to her. "Any other questions?" Zoe, wide-eyed, shook her head and left. After she left, Puck jumped straight up, grabbed a book and began to scan through it. Zoe got into the elevator and crossed her arms. "Abby's got a lot of explaining to do tonight." Abby yawned and watched the night sky. She didn't know what to do. The Bronx Zoo accomplished nothing. She was still stuck and Puck had no clue how to help. She had to remind herself that Puck did not have his powers in this world. She tapped her fingers on the floor and sighed. "Umm, can I join you?" Abby looked up to see Puck cowering in the shadows. Abby shrugged looking back down. "Sure...it's a free country." She quickly snapped her head up, "I think it is, anyway." Puck grinned and sat next to her. "I wanted to apologize for earlier. I didn't mean to snap at you. It's just that ever since my banishment I've just had bad luck after bad luck." Abby smiled. " I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have shown you the picture when I knew how you felt." The two sat there in silence for a few minutes before Puck heard Abby sniffle. "Abby?" Abby turned to Puck as a tear fell down her face. "Yeah?" Puck wiped the tear. "Don't cry. There is only one manic depressant allowed in each castle...and that's my job." Abby chuckled. "You shouldn't be depressed. It's what is causing your bad luck. Your kind..." Puck curled his lip. "My kind?" Abby looked at him. "Yeah, your kind, the Fey, is made of happy magic. SO, when you guys get upset or depressed for a long period of time it changes your surroundings." Puck folded his arms. "Yeah..what do you know?" Abby wrapped her arms around herself. "Yeah, what do I know? I've just been married to a Fey for eight years." Puck unfolded his arms and leaned close to her face. "Are you happy with him...with me?" Abby went to make a wisecrack but she saw he was completely serious. "Yeah, you, in my world, make me very happy. I miss him so much." She started to lean closer when they both pulled away almost terrified at what almost happened. Puck nodded. "I think it would be best to try and contact Titania tomorrow." Abby agreed. "Yeah..it would. The sooner I leave, the less disruption I make of everyone's lives." She got up to storm out when Puck stopped her. HE held her arms and Abby felt his touch, she could smell him, she wanted to be with him so bad. No, she reminded herself, this was not her Puck. "Abby? I think your 'disruption' was exactly what this world needed." Abby looked into his eyes and smiled. She quickly pulled herself free before she lost all control of her emotions and went to bed before she broke her promise to Abby two. Puck watched her go and didn't stop her because he too was on the verge of losing his will power. Zoe ran into her apartment and quickly changed her clothes, which is easier said than done with wings, and jumped into bed. She had to talk to Abby. As sleep consumed her, Zoe found herself standing in a white room, which quickly dissolved into a field of golden wheat and blue skies. "Abby!" Zoe waited for any response. Nothing. She yelled again and was rewarded with the wall of water appearing in front of her. "Yeah Zoe." Zoe folded her arms. " When were you going to tell me about the whole POP thing?" The water wavered as if laughing. "I was..really I was.. it's just that I was afraid you would freak." "With good reason!" Zoe yelled throwing her arms up. Then Zoe got the chills. "What part of me did you attach too?" "Don't worry Zoe, it's the earrings you wear that I gave you for Christmas." "Earrings? Oh..well..that's ok. It will be easy to get rid of them, when the time comes. Do you know when that will be, by any chance?" The water wall sank. "No." Zoe nodded. "Oh, ok. Don't worry Puck is working very hard to find out what happened. We'll get you back somehow." "Thanks Zoe." Next morning..... Zoe walked into the kitchen to see Puck feeding Tori. The twins were already out with Fox and Alex. Everyone thought it best to get the kids away from the castle to get their minds off Abby. Puck looked up at Zoe. "Hey, you ok? You look tired?" Zoe nodded. "Yeah alittle, haven't gotten a good night sleep in days." Puck nodded. "Me either." Zoe saw the sad look on Puck's face and couldn't resist. "Puck?" "hmm?" He turned to her as he burped Tori. Zoe sat in front of him. "I know alittle about where Abby is." Puck stopped rubbing Tori's back. "What?" "She told me not to tell you, but maybe it will help. Her body and soul were split. Her soul went somewhere and her body attached to my earrings. She told me so. I see her in my dreams." Puck swallowed hard, choking back tears. Tori let out a burp and Puck placed her in a highchair. "She's alive." Zoe nodded. "Well, kinda." Puck rubbed his chin. "If her body is here then her soul is in another dimension, most likely. Zoe, that doesn't help me. I can help you..but it's up to Abby to find her way home. The only way I know how to do that is...." "Titania's Mirror?" asked Abby sitting on Owen's bed. Puck nodded. "That's what Titania said. She told me that her mirror would be the only way to safely get you home and keep Abby 2 here." Abby let out a sigh. "Ok, but where is it?" Puck smiled. "It's at Demona's house. She has it locked up in her loft. I thought she smashed it when I turned her into a human, but she just shattered that poor Ming dynasty vase." Abby waved her hand in front of his face. "Yo, Puck..come back to Earth." Puck shook his head. "What? Oh yeah..right..you and the mirror. Well, we can pop in them pop out if we need.." Abby put her hand up. "That would mean putting Alex or Anita in harm's way. No way..next." Puck sighed and plopped down on a couch. He rubbed his chin. "We could ask the gargoyles." Abby sat next to him. Puck watched Abby's eyes dance with a supernatural glow. He also saw the auras flaring up. She must have been talking to the other Abby. She quickly gasped for a breath and turned to Puck. "What about Angela?" "What about her?" "Maybe we can get Angela to go talk to her mother and distract her while..." Puck jumped up waving his arms. " I think not. Demona is not a very nice person in this world." "She wasn't in mine either...but she is a mother. A mother has a soft spot for her child." Puck sighed. "Abby, you are forgetting something," he sat down next to her again and took her hand, "this is not your world. I don't know. If only I had my powers back." Abby got up. "What if I talk to the gargoyles?" Puck shrugged. "Go for it....what do we have to lose now?" Abby folded her arms. "Just my life." Abby walked down the hall to the gargoyles' area. She was happy to find Goliath and Hudson alone. She tapped on the door. The two gargoyles looked at her with raised eyebrow ridges. Hudson smiled. "Miss Abigail. It's nice to see you again." "And you Hudson." Abby walked into the room and gave Hudson a hug. Goliath smiled and nodded. "I am happy to see that you have made peace with your father. We have missed you." Abby smiled back. "Yeah..well there is alittle problem with that." Hudson frowned. "What is it lass, he's not being difficult, is he?" Abby waved her hands. "No..not at all. It's me. I need your help." "Anything." Answered Goliath. Abby let out a breath. "I'm glad you two are sitting down." She proceeded to tell them the whole story. From the moment lightening struck to the present moment. Abby watched their faces change from worry, to disbelief, to amazement. "So you see I need your help to get Titania's mirror back. It's the only way I can be sent home." Hudson coughed. "it's all alittle hard to swallow." Abby knelt before Hudson, taking his talon in her hand, "If I could make it any easier to believe me I would do it. I need you to believe me." Goliath touched Abby's head, "I do. I can see the difference in your eyes. We will help you. Although I think it would be wise for this mission to just be the three of us. We need not worry the others." Hudson and Abby nodded. "Agreed." Abby had tears in her eyes. She quickly got up and hugged Goliath, "Thank you." Goliath smiled, " Meet us up at the tower at midnight. We'll be ready to go." Abby nodded and walked out of the room to tell Puck. Hudson looked to Goliath, " Are you sure about this?" Goliath nodded, "Yes." Abby could feel her heart pumping through her clothes. When she got back to Puck's room, she shut the door and leaned against it, her hands to her mouth. Puck got up and walked over. "What?" "They are going to help. I have to meet them at midnight. So, I got two hours." Puck laughed. "You know I can't let you go alone." Abby put her hand to his cheek. "Your sweet, but sure you can. I have to go make an excuse up to tell Matt." Puck folded his arms and watched Abby sneak out. She was walking down the hall when she heard John crying. Abby opened the door and sat on the bed near John. He was sweating and thrashing out at something. "John," Abby whispered as she slowly shook him. He woke with a start and grabbed Abby, hugging her tight. He buried his head in her chest. Matt quickly came in. "What's wrong?" Abby rubbed John's back. "It was just a bad dream." John looked up at his father and then Abby. "I'm ok." Matt ruffled the boy's head. "You sure?" John nodded. Matt tightened his robe. "Ok, Abby." Abby tucked in John and kissed his head. She was walking out with Matt when John asked. "Mom?" Abby turned. "Yeah?" "Could you stay with me tonight?" Abby looked at Matt. He smiled. "oh no..he's not going to be a momma's boy." He kissed her on the forehead. "Night." "Night." Abby watched Matt go and got in bed with John. She wiped his brow. "You ok?" John shook his head. "You have to go?" "What?" "My dream. I saw you go with Goliath and Hudson to a mean gargoyle's house." Abby ran her fingers through his hair as his breathing slowed. "John, do you know you had a vision?" John hugged Abby. "I didn't like it. I saw you die." Abby froze. "What?" "The mean gargoyle shoots you and you die in Hudson's arms." Abby put her hand to her mouth. No, it can't be..this is not happening. John sat up and looked into her eyes. "There was a lady there who talked to me. She told me to tell you something." "A lady? What did she look like?" John rubbed his nose. "She was really skinny, with pink hair and green skin." Abby smiled. "You just saw Titania. What did she say?" "She said that the mirror is in the basement not the loft and do not fight Puck." Abby looked at John." Don't fight him?" John rested his head on her chest. "Yeah, let him go with you. You will need him." Abby was about to ask John some more questions but she noticed that he had already fallen asleep. She quietly slid out of the bed, resting John's head on the pillow. She kissed him and went to find Puck. Abby found Puck, pacing in the Great Hall. He was swearing and mumbling to himself about something. "Puck." He looked up at her. "Abby! I thought you left." He ran and hugged her. She hugged back. " No, not yet. I want you to come with me." Puck was taken back. "But I thought you said..." Abby placed her fingers to his lips. "Don't, I might change my mind." Puck nodded. Abby looked at her watch. "Let's go." Puck grabbed a cost to hide his attire. "Where are we going? We still have two hours?" Abby's world.... Luna walked into the gargoyles' room. "Have you guys seen my dad?" All of a sudden there was a loud explosion from the Great Hall. Everyone ran into the Great Hall to see Puck at the epicenter of the explosion. He still had his hands up covered in black dirt. The whites of his wide eyes were the only visible part of his body. He coughed, black smoke rising from his mouth and black dirt falling to the floor. He looked at the group. "Well, that didn't work." He went stifle and fell backwards, passing out. Tribeca's house... "Abby?" Tribecea opened her door to find Abby and a strange man hiding behind her daughter. "Mom...I wanted to see you one last time." She motioned behind her. "This is Puck." Puck came out of hiding to bow. Tribeca gave her daughter a look. "So, you left Matt." Abby 2 broke through this time, throwing Abby into the tower of pillows deep in her mind, where Abby 2 had been dormant. Tribeca and Puck noticed the switch. Abby 2 began to scream. "What is your problem with Matt? You have always hated him. Why? I love him so much." She pushed past her mother and into the house. Tribeca and Puck walked in after her, closing the door. Abby walked into the living room and turned to face the two of them. "Matt is a wonderful father and husband. He treats me right..." "Yeah, as long as you are little miss obedient housewife." Tribeca chimed in. Abby grunted, her magic crackling around her body. She was about to shoot her mother with a ball of magick when she began to scream. She placed her hands over her ears. "Stop it!" Puck approached her cautiously. "Abby?" Abby two backed away. "Stay away! All you want is her...me." Tribeca looked at Puck. "Did you two..." Puck interrupted her. "No! It's true I'm attracted to her but she has made it clear that I'm not the right Puck for her." HE gave Tribeca a sad smile. Abby screamed again, falling to her knees. "I want you out. Get out of my head." Tribeca sighed and knelt by her daughter, gathering her in her arms. Abby rocked still holding her hands over her ears. Puck knelt near them. Abby was whimpering. "I just want my body back." Tribeca ran her fingers through Abby's hair. "You will. You have to be strong, child. This Abby needs to get home." Abby finally took her hands away form her ears, her whimpering slowed. "She is going to get me killed." Puck rubbed her arm. "I won't let it happen. Please, Abby needs to get home. She is running out of time. If she does not go home in this next three days, she will die." Abby looked at Puck. "She will die?" Tribeca nodded. "Yes. Her body in her time will only last so long without its soul. She will be gone soon. Let her come back out." Abby looked at her mother, worry in her eyes. "You still love me, right? You don't love her more." Tribeca took Abby's chin in her hand. "What a silly question. I love you. You are both my daughters but you are the child I know. I do love the other Abby but only because she is you." Abby nodded and hugged her mother. She wet limp and Tribeca laid her down. Abby's eyes flew open and her breathing raced. She took in a deep breath, looking to Tribeca and Puck. "I have to get out of here." Tribeca helped Abby up. "Are you ok?" Abby wiped the cold sweat from her brow. "She took over so quick...I couldn't stop her." Tribeca nodded. "As you grow weaker, her soul becomes dominant again. Come, let me brew you some tea before you go." Tribeca started to walk but was stopped by Abby. "I wanted to thank you so much for helping me. You are everything I hoped you would be. I'm sorry we never got to know each other in time." Tribeca smiled. "Me too. You have a playful spirit." She looked a Puck who jumped under the sudden stares. She turned back to Abby. "I can see why you ended up with a Fey trickster. Come, let us go. Time is running out." She helped the still weak Abby to the kitchen, leaving a stunned Puck in the living room. Back in Abby's world.......... Puck was sitting in his living room with his kids. He was still coughing up black smoke, much to the amusement of Tori. Yet, now, Tori was sleeping in his lap while the twins sat next to him. "Guys, I have some news. Mom isn't dead...she's just lost right now." The twins' eyes went wide. Robin scratched his head. "What do you mean?" Puck shifted Tori so she laid more on his chest. "When the lightening stuck us, it split her soul and body. I don't know where her soul went but her body is here." "Where?" asked Luna. Puck put his hand to her cheek. "Not here, but on another plane. She will be back, I promise." "Dad, what do we do now?" asked Robin resting his head on Puck's shoulder. "We wait. In my failed attempt to reach her, I felt her determination. She is close." The other world............... Goliath and Hudson were at the top as they promised. Abby smiled. "Thank you again." Goliath smiled. "Hudson and I have talked and decided the best course of action is to land ontop of Demona's brownstone." "Wait, change of plans. The mirror is in the basement, not the loft like we thought." The gargoyles and Fey looked at each other confused. Abby smiled. "Trust me." Hudson nodded and picked Abby up. "Let's be going then." Goliath picked up Puck and the four made their way to Demona's house. They landed a few feet away from the house. Abby placed her hand on the ground and felt for any Fey magical currents. She found one, it had to be the mirror. And like John said, the mirror was in the basement. "Ok...if we can get in I can transport us back to the castle." They nodded. Abby looked around, "So, how do we get in?" Puck smiled. "I know." Before Abby could stop him Puck walked right up to the door. He ran the doorbell and waited. As he expected, Demona opened the door, eyes blazing. "You little imp! What are you doing here?!" Puck put his hands behind his back and balanced on his heels. "Oh I was just in the neighborhood...and thought how my favorite crazy gargoyle was doing." Demona sprang at him and Puck lead her on a chase around the park. Abby motioned and the three slid into the house undetected. She quickly ran down the stairs into the basement. To her dismay, there was a whole museum on items in the basement, most covered by dusty white sheets. Hudson sneezed. "Ock! What now?" Abby closed her eyes. "OK..relax and concentrate." Goliath watched Puck climb a tree Demona was about to go after them when she froze. She sniffed the air. Goliath turned. "Abby hurry..she smells us." Abby relaxed. "Mirror, Mirror I call to thee, show me where you are hiding." She felt her body move towards one item. She stopped and ripped off the paper wrapping to see her own reflection. She smiled. "Found it!" "And I found you." Abby turned to see Demona holding a huge laser gun. NO, she thought. Abby went to call for the gargoyles, but she noticed she didn't see them. Demona smiled. "Don't worry, I didn't kill them they are just sleeping." Abby leaned over a box to see Hudson and Goliath sleeping on the ground. She gulped and looked down the barrel of a gun that would probably kill her. Demona looked at her. "What are you doing with that mirror?" Abby shrugged. "What the hell. I need it to go home to my dimension." Demona laughed. "Please! You couldn't make up a better story." "It's true. Believe me, if I didn't have to bother you...I would have been very happy. But you are not the generous type." Demona smiled. "You got that right. Too bad I have to kill you now." Abby was ready to duck the blast when Demona got a somber face and fell to the ground. Abby looked down at Demona then up to see Puck holding a statue. He looked at her and laughed. "That was too easy." Abby ran and removed the rest of the wrapping around the mirror. "Don't look a gift gargoyle in the mouth." Puck walked over and examined the mirror. "Ahh this brings back memories." Abby smiled. "Later. Help me move the mirror towards the gargoyles." Puck helped. "Why?" "It's the only way I can transport. I need to touch all the things." She held onto the mirror and Puck took her hand. He bent down and grabbed onto the gargoyles' belts. He nodded and Abby closed her eyes. In a blue flash, they were back at the castle. Hudson and Goliath were starting to wake up. Abby smiled and clapped her hands. "We have it!" "Aye, lass, sorry we were not much help." Abby turned to Hudson and gave him a hug. "Yes you did. Thank you, but now..." she kissed his head and he feel back to sleep. Puck grabbed her arm. "What did you do?" "They don't need to remember this night," she turned to the gargoyles," if we shadows have offended, think of this and all is mended, that you have just slumber here, nothing more than a dream..." A light surrounded the gargoyles and they disappeared back to the gargoyles' area. Puck shook his head. "Shakespeare." Abby shook her finger at him. "Hey, my kids taught me that one." She saw Puck's face fall. "Sorry, Puck." He waved his hand and smiled. "It's ok. I say we get a good night's sleep and we'll get you home tomorrow." Abby nodded. "Thank you Puck, for everything." Puck shrugged. "No problem." Abby smiled and kissed him lightly on the lips. They both looked at each other and Puck quickly gathered her up in his arms and kissed her passionately. She didn't fight him at all. Abby two saw what was going on and sent a shock to Abby's head. Abby pulled away from Puck, panting, holding her head. Puck, also panting, asked. "What's wrong?" "Abby two didn't like what we were doing." Puck snorted. "Tough!" Abby shook her head clear. "No, she's right. I can't do this. You are my husband..but you're not. I don't make any sense." Puck smiled. "I get it and surprisingly, I understand." He moved to her and lightly kissed her on the lips. "Go to sleep." Abby nodded and started to walk to her room. "Abby!" She turned to see Puck giving her an evil grin. "I definitely can see what I, my other self, saw in you." He growled and laughed as he started to walk to his room. Abby snickered and went to see John. Quietly, she slid into bed with John. John turned over and smiled. "You are alive." Abby smiled. "Yeah..thanks to you." "Are you going home tomorrow?" "Yeah. I am." John smiled. "Good. I bet your kids miss you." Abby kissed John's head and went to sleep thinking about Luna. In Abby's world........... Luna was sleeping when a rush hit her. She quickly got up and ran to her father. "Dad!" Puck fell out of bed. "What?! Where? Luna, what's wrong?" Luna was smiling as she jumped on her father. "I got a rush..it was from mom. She's coming home tomorrow." Puck looked at her. "You sure?" Luna nodded. Puck laughed and hugged his daughter. Robin walked in rubbing his eyes. "Why are you screaming?" Puck laughed. "Mom's coming home." The other world.......... Puck, Abby and John sat in front of the mirror. John crossed his arms, "OK, where's the 'on' switch?" Puck laughed. "Depends on what you want it to do. In our case, Abby needs to turn it on." Abby snorted. "Yeah, well, I don't have any ruby slippers to click together." Puck jerked, looking at Abby. "No..but that's not a bad idea." "Huh?" said John and Abby in unison. Puck smiled. "Abby try it. 'There's no place like home.' It couldn't hurt to try." Abby shrugged. "Why not." She stood in front of the mirror and placed both hands on it. She began to chant 'There's no place like home' over and over again. Visions of home flashed before her so intensely she felt she could reach out a touch it. Then she heard John. "Abby! Look!" Just as Owen, Abby and John had hoped a portal of swirling colors opened before them in the mirror. Owen walked over to Abby and dissolved into Puck. He could see Abby smiling so much her eyes looked slanted. He didn't want her to go..but he smiled to himself that somewhere he did have Abby and was able to have the life he always wanted. He was just going to have to live with it this way. Puck walked up to her and gave her a hug. "I'm very lucky to have you..even though it's not me." Abby smiled and caressed his cheek. "It is you...just different form." With that she gave him alittle kiss on the lips. "If I had stayed that would have been a Jerry Springer show. Today..wives who leave their husbands for their third dimension lovers." Puck chuckled. "If I don't go back, one Puck will be devastated. Well, he better be anyway. Plus, the children." Puck gave her one last hug "Don't keep them waiting and I promise I won't give up. There has to be someone out there for me. I just hope she is just like you." Abby smiled. "Hey, with a sweet tongue like that, no doubt. How do you think you got me to keep going out with you?" John came up and smiled at Abby. "Will you forget me?" "You? Never! You're my son no matter where I go. Take care of your mother. She may bark, but her bite is butter. Remember the greatest gift is not found in a stone nor a tree, but in the hearts of true friends." John hugged her tight. "Good-bye mom...see you in a second." "Bye John." She kissed the top of his head. Abby had to go or she was going to cry. She walked through and watched Puck and John disappear forever and hoped she was going hone. Puck changed into Owen and picked up John to hold him close. The two watched Abby get absorbed into the portal. The colors began to swirl faster and faster until it was a brilliant white light. Owen and John covered their eyes until the light died. They looked to see Abby standing there with a huge smile and her hands behind her back. She nodded. "She got home." Owen put John down and they both embraced Abby. John was the first to ask. "How do you feel?" She looked at Owen then John. "Enlightened....my other self taught me a lot about what I've been missing. Owen?" "Yes?" Abby wrapped her arm around his and took John's hand and started to walk towards the main hall. "I think this is the start of a 'magickal' friendship." Owen smiled. "I agree." Abby let out a sigh. "Let's go find your father, John, I want to tell him that I think we should move into the castle with grandpa..would you like that?" John smiled and skipped down the hall cheering, doing cartwheels down the hall. Abby nodded. "I think that's a yes." Owen looked concerned. "Won't Matt object?" Abby shook her head. "I don't think so. I saw him talking with Elisa last night and I saw that need for excitement...that hunger. Elisa said that Captain Chazez would give him his job back in a flash. So, I think all I have to do is give him alittle incentive. If you know what I mean?" Abby gave Owen an evil smile. Owen just laughed and continued to walk down the hall with Abby and John, who was still cheering. "Abby?Abby? Wake up," Abby heard a familiar and oh so welcomed voice. It was Puck, her Puck. There were other voices: Fox, her father, Luna, Robin, the gargoyles, even the gurgles of Tori. 'So this is how Dorothy felt?' She thought as she opened her eyes. She saw Puck relax and smiled. "Welcome back Abigail." Abby smiled back and held out her arms to him. He took them and helped her up to hug her tight. Luna, Robin, Tori in his hands, ran to her and hugged her too. Abby laughed. "Guys, guys..I need to breathe." They loosened a bit but didn't let go. Luna asked. "Where did you go?" Abby took a deep breath. "To a place exactly like this..only different." Alex piped in. "Another dimension? Cool!" Abby nodded. "Yeah..one that I'd rather not talk about ok? Right now anyway, I'm just so happy to be home." Puck looked at her and she seemed to have changed. All the fury and stress she had the past few months was gone. She was so happy and content again. *what happened?* thought Puck, but that would have to wait, she was home and that's all that mattered. Abby looked up to see Matt with Elisa walk into the room. She would never be able to look at him that same way again, because she knew that he was right. If he had picked her up that day she would have ended up with him. She smiled to him and he smiled back, although he had that confused look upon his face. Luna let go of her mother. "Mom! We were so worried! We didn't know where you went..I thought I'd never see you again" She buried her face in her mother's shirt and cried. Abby stroked her head. "Believe me, I was beginning to feel the same way...but I'm home. And right now, all I want to do is go to bed. Ohh Puck?" "Yeah?" "Next time, you don't want to use magic to go because there is a storm. Knock me out if I ever say it's just a storm." Puck gave her a grin and kissed the top of her head. "I promise." Goliath placed his hand on Elisa's shoulders. "Now, that this is finished...I say we all go have something to eat." Zoe smiled at Abby. "You owe me a new earring." One Month Later................. Puck and Abby sat together on a lounge chair overlooking Sydney, Australia. Puck had one arm around Abby's waist and she had her head on his shoulder with one leg around his. They were both very tan and very happy. A waiter walked through the French doors with a tray in his hands. On the tray were two huge curvy glasses filled with a tangerine colored liquid with one blue and one yellow miniature umbrella. Puck and Abby took their drinks from the waiter and sipped, sighing with contempt. The waiter left the couple and Puck lifted his sunglasses to look at Abby. She was smiling at him. He smiled back evilly. When she had gotten back from wherever she had gone she became more affectionate and the only explanation he could get out of her was a shrug. Abby took a final sip and sat up. She adjusted her red bikini and sat next to the pool with her feet dangling in the water. "Wanna go for a swim?" Puck smiled. "Sure." He jumped off the chair and ran to do a cannonball right by Abby, splashing her. She squealed with excitement and quickly dove into the pool. They came up the same time and swam to the side of the pool. Puck wiped her face. "So...you're not going to tell me what you saw, are you?" Abby gave him a small smile. "Maybe one day." she glided her hand over his cheek. "It did make me appreciate things a lot more." Puck raised an eyebrow. "Like what?" Abby pushed off the side of the pool. "oh...you, the kids, my father...my life" Puck watched her swim. "That's a lot." He got out and she did too. She grabbed a huge towel and walked over wrapping herself and Puck in it. "As the old saying goes 'you don't know what you got until you lose it.'" "Oookay. Well it must have been pretty bad." Abby looked into his eyes. "Not bad...just different. You really want to know?" Puck held her close. "Yes." She smiled. "I got to see what you would become without me in your life." Puck frowned. "Oh Avalon, what? I didn't become a transsexual? Or worse.." he gasped, "A banker." Abby laughed. "No. You were a suicidal drunk, for the most part." Puck sighed, smiling. "Oh is that all." Abby giggled and the two ran into the bedroom jumping on the bed. They laid down with Puck leaning over her, outlining Abby's body with his finger sending pleasant chills coursing through her body. "You were always stronger than me." Abby pulled Puck's face to her saying, "Why do you say that?" "If it had been me...I would have gone crazy not having you." "You know sweet talking will get you everywhere." She smiled but Puck was not smiling. "Abigail, I'm serious. I love you too much." Puck kissed Abby and she kissed back with more passion than a daytime soap opera. Abby kissed Puck's neck and hugged him close. "This is a new beginning for you, for me, for us." Puck placed his forehead to Abby's forehead. "I agree. And I think to celebrate we should spend the whole night worshiping each other." Abby laughed and nodded. "Oh hell yeah." Epilogue, in the other dimension..... Puck was teaching John the joys of levitation when Abby came in with a piece of paper. After one night, Matt had agreed to move into the castle that had been almost five months ago. John let out his breath and the toy fell to the ground almost hitting Puck on the head. Puck ducked. "Whoa John, directions buddy" John smiled. "Sorry." Puck looked at Abby. "And what do we owe the honor?" Abby waved the piece of paper in front of Puck. "Well, I was talking to Titania and she said that an old flame of yours in town. I guess she won her freedom and lives on Central Park West." Puck looked at John. John shrugged. Puck looked at Abby. "Ok, I'm game. Who?" Abby looked at the note. "A Miss Aphrodite." Puck's jaw dropped. "And that's her number." Abby nodded. "Uh-huh." Puck rubbed his chin and then jumped at Abby. She squealed and ran behind John. "So, interested?" Puck nodded his head. "Hmm...let me think: YES!" Abby nodded. "Ok." She gave him the note and he looked at it. He was smiling like a boy with a new toy. He waved at the two and disappeared. John, confused, looked at his mother. "Is she a friend?" Abby picked her son up. "Oh yeah. They used to be girlfriend and boyfriend a long time ago and their jobs forced them apart. So, now they can pick up where they left off." John smiled. "Good. He was getting depressing with all that mushy talk." Abby laughed and walked back into the castle.
That's it for this series for now!
