Note: this story is a continuation of Erica's series, it may be helpful to read
them before this story if you wish to know certain characters' origins... ok that's
it... on with the story...
This takes place immediately after "Stop the World I Want to Get Off."
Odin, Scotland..995AD
After 5 months, Mina was not a very happy camper. Her belly was becoming very big.
So big that she had to sit down most of the time to catch her breath. Shiela had
watched her and giggled to herself. It was odd to see her faithful servant in such a
predicament. Shiela walked to Mina and held out her hand, "Need some help?"
Mina took her hand, "I hate feeling so useless."
Shiela laughed, "Please..you are in a very special condition. And just think....you
only have 4 more months."
Mina gave Shiela a nasty look and moaned," I must be crazy to do this!"
Shiela put her hand over Mina's stomach," No...you wait and see..it is worth it."
Mina felt the tiny being inside her move..and at that moment her problems did seem
all that important anymore.
Eyrie Building.....2005A.D.
Abby was sitting on the couch with her feet up on the coffee table. At 9 months, she
was no spring chicken either. Her belly was the size of a basketball. Yet, it was
not a happy time for Abby. She had not yet heard the baby talk to her as she had
with the twins. All she heard was the bell. It worried her. She was afraid that
something was wrong. But everyone from her doctor to Puck said that everything was
fine. Puck had told her that sometimes halfling became more human or Fey...it was
all up to the combination of genes. So maybe this time the combination didn't let
the baby talk through Abby's witchcraft. Abby came out of her trace when something
rubbed her stomach from within. It wasn't a leg or an arm..but something light and
flexible. Abby shuddered and began to cry. She was afraid of her own baby. Abby saw
no choose but to just deal with it. She just hoped that it wasn't a mistake. Abby
heard a knock at the door, "Come in!" she called. Brooklyn entered giving her grin,
"Hey Abby. Can I ask you a favor?"
Abby smiled, "Depends on what it is."
Brooklyn sat on the couch, "I want you to tell Zoe she has to work late in the
office. I got this big surprise for her."
Abby rubbed her belly, "OK, but if she bites my head off, I'm coming after you.
Must be a big surprise for you to plan all this out?"
Brooklyn nodded, "Yeah, and I need all the help I can get." He leaned forward and
rubbed Abby's belly, "I have the good luck from the Buddha belly. I should be
fine."
"Hey!" yelled Abby.
Brooklyn smiled, "Thanks again Abby."
Abby picked her book up and nodded, "No problem." As soon as Brooklyn left,
Lexington came knocking at the door, "Hi Lex."
Lex jumped and sat on the couch's armrest, "Hey, could you do me a favor Abby?"
Abby eyes widened and she placed her book down again, "Depends."
Lex smiled, "I'm taking Beca to a Broadway show and I need to borrow your maternity
trench coat and Petros's fedora hat he left here."
Abby nodded, "Sure." Abby struggled to get up. With alittle help from Lex, Abby
waddled down to the closet and got the items for Lexington. He thanked her and left.
As Abby walked back to her couch she hissed with pain. The baby was moving violently
all of a sudden. It probably was because of her frustration. She walked into the
kitchen and got some spearmint tea to help calm her nerves. She sat down again and
started to read her book. The baby was moving softly now. She wondered if the baby
liked the book. When she was pregnant with the twins, they told her they liked
horror books. With this pregnancy, since the baby didn't speak, she began to read
different genes of books to see if anything happened. The baby did tell her its
preference by kicked her hard when it didn't like what she was reading. So far,
science-fiction/fantasy seemed to be the baby's favorite. Abby turned the page to
Frank Herbert's Dune content in the chapter when her father walked into the room.
Xanatos sat next to Abby and smiled. He didn't say a word and that pissed Abby off.
She placed the tea and her book down again to look at her father, "Can I help you?"
Xanatos smiled, "Thanks for asking. Actually, you can. Here," he took a small
elongated box from his robe, "Could you hide this in your room. It's a necklace for
Fox."
Abby extended her hand to him and he placed the fussy box into her hand. He thanked
her and left. Abby opened the box to see a pair of ruby droplet earrings with a gold
chain ruby necklace to match. She nodded her head in approval and got up. She placed
the box in her dresser drawer. She patted her belly, "Sorry sweetie, it looks like
we are not going to finish the book tonight." Abby walked into the hallway and
knocked at Luna's door. When she heard Luna beckon, Abby opened the door to find
Alex, Luna, and Robin writing Valentine's Day cards to their classmates and friends.
Robin got up and hugged Abby, resting his head on her belly. "Mom?"
"Yes, Robin?" Abby answered, stroking the boy's head.
"Will you be my Valentine?"
Abby smiled, happy tears threatening to spill down her cheeks, "Ahh, of course I
will sweetie. Although your dad might ask me too."
"That's ok. I can share you."
Abby laughed, "Thanks."
Luna scratched her head, "Where is dad?"
Abby shrugged, "I don't know. I'll go find him." She walked out of the room. She
stopped mid-way and held her belly again. The baby was moving weird again and it
hurt. Within a few seconds it went away and she went to find Puck. She turned a
corner and almost ran into Zoe. Zoe jumped, "Whoa, sorry Abby. I didn't see you
there."
Abby smiled, "That's ok. Oh, I wanted to tell you that Mr. Jave wants the reports
next week so you have to stay late at the office tonight"
Zoe's shoulders fell, "Seriously?"
Abby nodded, "Yeah, sorry. I'd do it but I'm not feeling well."
Zoe nodded, "Yeah, don't worry about it. I'll go now and hopefully I'll finish
before morning." Abby nodded and continued walking down the hall. She passed the
library where Elisa and Golaith were talking, making goggle eyes at each other. Abby
had to remind herself that Puck and her were just as bad when they were dating. She
was almost ready to give up the search for Puck, when she heard him laugh in the
gym.
*******************************************
Puck was running on a treadmill for the first time in his long life. After the first
five minutes of laughing, he finally got the hang of it. Abby walked in and laughed
at him. Puck stuck out his tongue.
"Oh..That was mature!"she said
"And why would I be? How is mama doing today?" Puck saw Abby's face go very soft.
She turned her eyes but Puck had seen the pain. He jumped off the treadmill and took
Abby's hand. He led her to a bench. They sat and were silent. Puck turned her
face,"What's wrong?"
Abby sighed as a tear fell down her cheek," I'm scared."
"About? Come on sweetie. I can't read your mind.."
Abby raised an eyebrow and Puck held up his hands, "OK, ok, I can. but I'd rather
not. Remember you can come to me for anything."
Abby nodded, "The baby scares me."
Puck shook his head in confusion," How?"
"I FEEL something. It's not a leg or an arm...it's something else and it hurts. The
doctor said there was a thin cloudy mass next to the baby but he said it's just
normal stuff. I'm terrified of my own baby. I feel like Rosemary about to get birth
to the devil's child."
"Hey thanks."
"You know what I mean Puck"
Puck nodded, "I know..but believe me..I did a full magical checkup on you..you are
fine and so is the baby. I have been getting 'vibes' from the baby..but not like the
twins...almost Fey."
Abby chuckled,"Well it is half Fey."
Puck smiled,"No..I mean like my siblings. As in 100% Fey."
Abby's smiled went quickly to a frown,"But, how is that possible? Shiela wouldn't
ha.."
Puck shook his head,"No. Maybe this baby is more Fey. You do have alittle Fey in
you..because of the immortal spell I put on you. Maybe it was added into the gene
pool. Any moment now and we'll find our answers."
Abby nodded," That we will. I just wish I knew if it was a boy or a girl?"
Puck smiled,"It's a girl"
Abby chuckled. This was a game they have been playing for the last three months, "No
way..it's a boy."
Puck got up and put his hands on his hips, "Nope..a girl."
Abby put her hand on her stomach, "And how do YOU know..ohh the mighty Puck."
Puck shrugged,"It's a hunch....only a woman would be this stubborn enough not to
talk," Puck leaned so Abby and his forehead's touch,"especailly to you."
Abby tilted her head up and kissed Puck on the lips,"Thank you."
Puck just smiled and gave her a big hug,"Hey, I'll be the rest of the night. Don't
forget to tip you waitress." Abby laughed and left to go read her book. Maybe she
could finish one chapter.
11pm in an office at the Eyrie............
Zoe screamed frustrated that the figures where not working out. First off it sucked
that she was in the office at 11pm. Second, office furniture was not meant for
gargoyles wings and tail. She moved to get more comfortable. Her head hurt and all
she wanted to do was sleep. A little nap wouldn't hurt. She laid her head down and
took a nap.
Brooklyn watched as Zoe went to sleep. Perfect, he thought. He was hoping all the
number crushing would make her sleep. He went to work with an evil grin on his
face.
In the kitchen..............
"Broadway this is beautiful." Angela said.
"Thank you my love. I wanted this Valentine's day to be special."
"But love, Valentine's day isn't for another hour."
Broadway smiled and lit the two candles on the little circular table set for two. HE
smiled and brought the tray of food closer to the table, "I know, but I figured
everyone was going to be hectic tomorrow and we might miss it. Don't worry, by the
time I'm showing you how much I love you, it will be Valentine's Day." Broadway
purred, flapping his ears.
Angela laughed, "Watch out Broadway, this is how we became parents."
Broadway just smiled and opened the lids to expose his gourmet masterpieces.
In a banquet hall on the 45th floor................
"Flowers?"
Ennis nodded.
"Ribbons?"
Ennis nodded again.
Hudson looked down at the little gargoyle. Ennis was turning out to be a very bright
boy. Hudson and him had decorated the entire room for the Valentine's Day gala
Xanatos was putting on for his employees. Ennis wasn't able to lift anything but he
knew what looked good and where to place it. Hudson picked little Ennis up, "What
you be sayin about us decorating the Den with the leftovers?"
Ennis squealed in his baby voice and hugged Hudson. Hudson returned the hug and
placed the boy down. He picked up the decoration box and headed upstairs. Ennis
flapped his ears, picked up a stray flower and followed his grandfather.
Back in the office........
Zoe moaned and lifted her head, rubbing her eyes. She opened her eyes to see she was
wearing a red strapless silk dress that ended right above her knee spikes. The next
thing she noticed was a folded piece of paper on her desk, surrounded by fresh red
rose petals. She picked the card up and in Brooklyn's handwriting she read, " That
dress looks great on you. I can't wait to see it on the floor. Follow the rose
petals."
Zoe laughed and looked to the side of the desk to see a row of petals leading
across the room. She smiled to herself and followed Brooklyn's instructions. The
only problem was the petals lead to an unused office. Zoe scratched her head,
looking for another clue. Then she felt hands on her hips. She didn't scream or
jerk. She knew these hands. She felt Brooklyn's beak nussle her neck, sending chills
down her spine. "You always said it was your fantasy to make love in an office."
Zoe giggled and tried to turn around but Brooklyn stopped her, "Nope. Just relax."
Brooklyn turned her body towards the desk. Zoe noticed the candles flickering around
the room, sending echoes of the flame onto the glass window. Rose petals covered the
desktop. Brooklyn turned her around and had her sit on the desk. Zoe smiled at him.
She tried to touch his bare chest but he denied her again. It was so arousing. She
wanted him badly and he knew it. He took her hands and laid her down on the desk.
Slowly, he pulled the red dress over her body throwing it to the ground. He let his
hands explore her body sending shivers of pleasure through her. She moaned and sat
up, "Foreplay's over." She grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him ontop of her,
showing him how much she loved him.
***********************
Abby walked into the living room where Puck was watching the late late late should
have been in hours ago movie, Earth Girls Are Easy. Abby sat next to him just in
time to see Damon Wayans bust a groove on the techno 80's style dance floor. Puck
chuckled and looked at Abby. Abby noticed the attention and looked at him, "Yes?"
Puck shrugged, "Nothing."
Abby turned so she was staring at him, puckering her face like a fish. Puck tried
not to laugh at her, holding his breathe. He couldn't hold and turned to her, "You
realized your face could freeze like that."
Abby let out a breathe with a big smile, "It got your attention."
Puck nodded, "True." Puck leaned against the couch looking at Abby with a serious
look on his face.
Abby sighed, "What now?"
Puck stuck his lower lip out and shook his head, "Nothing."
Abby started to get up but Puck pulled her back so her back rested against his
chest. HE leaned closer to her ear, caressing her cheek with his nose, "Don't go."
Abby turned her head to him and kissed him. HE glided his fingers up her neck and
held her face as his kiss deepened. Abby reached her arm up to touch the back of his
neck.. She jerked away, "Ouch!"
"What?"
Abby placed her hand on her belly and let out a deep breath, "Yeah, just had a bad
feeling."
Puck placed his hand over her belly, "Nothing. I don't understand. You and the baby
are healthy and magickally fine."
Abby smiled, "Maybe the baby was telling us it's grossed out with its parents get
all mushy?"
Puck nodded, "With our kids, that is very possible." He kissed the top of her head,
"I love you."
Abby caressed Puck's cheek, "I love you too, Come." Abby took Puck's hand and lead
him out onto the balcony. She waved her hand and a small table appeared with fruit
and two glasses filled with a dark liquid. Puck smiled, "No wine for you."
Abby took the glass and handed to Puck, "I know. It's cranberry juice." He took his
glass and looked out onto the city, taking Abby's hand in his own. "What should we
toast to? I think our future is sealed, our life is happy, what's left?"
Abby lifted her glass, "Here's to tonight. To us and our happy little bubble."
Puck lifted his glass, "Here's to tonight and the best wife a trickster could ask
for."
Abby touched glasses and drank her juice. Then leaned in to share a sweet kiss with
her husband.

The next day ...........
Alex was taking down the rest of the Valentine's Day decorations, while Luna and
Robin finished the rest of the food.
Alex was just pulling on the streamers when all three kids heard a blood-curdling
scream.
"MOM!" screamed Luna and Robin as they ran out of the room. Alex started to run and
got tangled up in the steamers. He fell on the floor, "Typical."
Puck met the kids right before the apartment, "Dad, we heard mom scream!" yelled
Luna.
Puck smiled, "That's happens when you have a baby."
"Mom had the baby."
Abby screamed again. Puck answered, "Well, not exactly."
Luna ran into the apartment to see Zoe and Fox helping Abby up."Let's get her to the
delivery room. Abby how do you feel?"asked Fox
"How do you THINK I feel?!!!!"yelled Abby.
Zoe winced,"Come on Abby..you can do this"
Abby chuckled,"I've done it once before..but I never thought I'd do it again!"
The twins were getting alittle upset to see their mother in so much pain. Puck
quickly took Abby's arm from Zoe,"Zoe, take the kids to the library or do
something"
Zoe got the point and hurried the twins out of the room.
Abby was crying,"I didn't mean to scare them."
Puck laughed,"Please! if this scared them..they have never seen you get really
mad."
Abby chuckled through the sweat that was starting to soak her clothes,"That's
true."
David, Fox, Alex, Zoe, and the twins were sitting in the library. They all were
scared. They knew that Abby's pregnancy was not going the way it did before. They
had all heard Abby at one point or another talk about the bad feeling she got. They
waited but Alex and the twins couldn't wait any longer. When the adults were not
looking the three snuck out and walked to the birthing room.
Abby was breathing normally, waiting for the next contraction to hit. Puck wiped her
forehead, "Abby you gotta relax."
Abby smiled, "I know..but when you know something REALLY painful is coming..it's
hard not to tense up." Puck smiled and kissed her on the lips. Abby felt Puck
tapping into her own magick to make her relax. Fey magick is too dangerous to use on
humans and gargoyles while they are in labor because it may make them relax too
much; causing them to go to sleep and never wake up. Puck manipulated Abby's witch
magick with the baby's to safely relax them. Abby smiled, "Thank you Puck."
Puck caressed her cheek, "No problem. Just remember it will only last until it's
time to push. I'm too scared to tamper with it any further."
Abby nodded, "You scared?"
Puck gave her a grin, "Don't you start. You know I get scared whenever anything
threatens you or the kids."
Abby nodded, "I know, it's just makes me think about the first time you and I
started date seriously. You were always hiding things from me."
Puck took her hand and leaned towards her so they touched foreheads, "I only did
that to protect you from Oberon's wrath and my own pain. I didn't think you'd
understand the life I had lead until I found you."
Abby smiled caressing his cheek, "Boy, we're you wrong."
Puck laughed and adjusted the blanket over Abby, "Yes, I was very wrong. I wish I
could do more to show you how much I love you."
Abby brought Puck close to her and kissed him, "You're a wonderful husband and
father. You don't need to show me more...I know." Puck smiled back and kissed her
forehead, "I'm going to check on the kids, you get some rest."
"Puck, the kids feel left out. I can sense their pain from here." She bite her
lips, "What do say about letting them come in and watch?"
Puck puckered his lips in thought, "I don't know. Do you think they can handle
it?"
"You could ask them. I think it will help them accept their new sibling alittle
more. The connection will be stronger than if they are waiting out in the library."
Puck nodded, "Ok, if you want them to be here I'll go ask them."
"What's your opinion on this topic?"
Puck shrugged, "I think it's a great idea. It will save time on the birds and bees
conversation later on."
Abba laughed and punched Puck in the shoulder, "Seriously!"
Puck scratched his head, "Seriously huh? I don't mind. I think you're right, they
will be more connected to the baby. It will take away the scariness of the whole
birthing process and they can see that mommy is ok."
Abby nodded, "Ok, you go ask and I'll sleep."
Puck snorted in mock frustration, "Sure, give me all the hard jobs."
Abby nodded and settled into the bed to enjoy what was left of the painfree labor.
Puck watched Abby before heading out into the hallway. Robin, Luna and Alex were
sitting on the floor waiting for any news. When Puck came out they quickly got up.
Puck smiled, extending his arms. The three kids ran into them asking more questions
than Puck could understand.
"Whoa guys, Mom is ok. She's sleeping now."
Luna and Robin looked at each other then Luna asked, "Did mom have the baby yet?"
Puck shook his head, "Not yet. Alex could you give us a moment?"
Alex nodded, "Sure, Uncle Puck." In a green light, Alex disappeared. Robin and Luna
turned to their father with worried eyes, "Is something wrong?" asked Robin.
Puck shook his head, "Not at all. Your mother and I were wondering if you would
like to watch the birth of your new sibling?"
Luna furrowed her eyebrows, "In there?"
Puck nodded, "Yes, you don't have to if you don't want too."
Robin smiled, "I do."
Luna bite her lip, "I do too."
Puck nodded, "OK, let's get you guys cleaned up and into suits."
Robin asked, "What are the suits for dad?"
"There to keep the room sterile so no bad diseases get into the room." Puck
continued to inform the kids about what they were going see as they walked to the
prep room.
A few hours later...............
Abby was screaming. Puck was wiping her face. "Puck, how did I let you talk me into
having another baby." She winced as another contraction hit her. She was in so much
pain she was getting dizzy.
Puck wiped her brow with a cold rag again," Because you love me."
Abby smiled,"Oh yeah."
Puck leaned closer to her to whisper in her ear,"And I love you so much for letting
be a father again."
Abby turned gave him a grin,"You're welcome...but,"she took a few deep breaths as
she felt the contraction starting,"you owe me big!"
Puck laughed,"We'll go on a vacation, ok?"
Abby yelled,"Ok! Now please, get it out of me!"
Robin and Luna were on the other side of Abby, their faces pale with worry. Abby
turned her head to them. She extended her hand to them and they took it, "Don't
worry about this..it is normal for there to be a lot of pain."
Robin sighed, "Is it almost over?"
Abby laughed, "I hope so." Puck smiled as Abby's laughter relaxed the children. They
were completely shocked from the overload for magickal output and pain. They were
adjusting well, standing by their mother afraid to move from her side.
The doctor, another one of Puck's brainwashed victims, was scratching his head,"It
seems to be some sort of shell?"
Puck and Abby yelled,"WHAT?!"
Just when the tension was at it's peak, a bright ball of fire appeared to Abby's
right side. It was Mina."Hey sweetie..how are you doing?"
Mina looked at the twins and walked over to them and gave them a hug, "Trying to
scare their young minds huh Puck? It's actually the best form of birth control I've
seen in awhile."
"Mina!" yelled Abby, "We want them to experience this moment as a family."
Luna, still hugging Mina, said, "yeah, it's not that bad. Mom just screams a lot."
Mina bite her lip trying not to laugh. Mina squeezed Abby's hand, "I bet she does."
Abby smiled back.
Puck laughed,"Hey Mina..nice of you to join us. And I see you are still watching
that girlish figure of yours."
Abby elbowed Puck in the side."You look beautiful Mina. I just wish I could say the
same for myself."
Mina smiled and squeezed Abby's hand again,"I couldn't miss out on this..This is MY
day of course. Shiela told me that she took Oberon's curse off you."
Puck nodded,"Yeah..by the way..did she ever say anything about that spell."
Abby squeezed both hands bringing Puck and Mina to their knees,"If you two mind..I'm
trying to give birth here!!"
The rest of the labor was a blur to Abby. After the final push..Abby saw what looked
like a blue egg be passed to the nurse. Abby started to panic,"What's wrong? Why
isn't the baby crying?"
Puck stroked her cheek and walked over to the crib, while Mina took the cold rag to
wipe Abby's forehead. The doctor looked at him,"The baby is fine just some coating
that we are going to peel away. I don't know why it isn't crying. Nurse, I want a
incubator in here. And get a monitor...I want to make sure her vitals are good."
"Her?"Puck said.
The doctor hit his head,"I'm sorry...yes a girl. You have a daughter." Puck smiled.
Abby laughed,"So..you were right? Don't get too cocky."
Mina hugged Abby and helped her get cleaned up. Robin and Luna helped Mina. Puck
leaned over the table where his daughter was and automatically knew what had
happened. He stroked the baby's cheek and she opened her eyes. They were just like
his: ice blue. She had dark brown almost black hair, with a light peach skin color.
Puck slowly reached down and peeled the blue 'shell around her to reveal a pair of
wings. The wings were a sky blue with little spots of yellow, red, and green all
over them. The baby looked at Puck with curious eyes. Puck smiled at her. The nurse
came over and did a double take, but Puck waved his hand in front of her face and
she soon recovered and started to clean the baby up.
Abby was laying on a bed made for her. She was still panicking,"Puck?"
Puck turned, "It's ok......she's just alittle more Fey then the others."
Mina cocked an eyebrow, "How much?"
"Let's just say that we are going to need the gargoyles help raising her."
Abby sighed,"I don't understand"
Puck picked up his daughter that had been wrapped up tight in a pink blanket. He
walked over to Abby and put the baby in her arms. Abby looked at him,"What? Why is
she so alert."
Mina smiled,"Fey babies usually are. Puck?"
Puck slowly unwrapped the baby and Abby gasped when she saw two little blue wings
unfold from the baby's back. Abby laughed. The twins climbed up on the bed and
looked into the mass of blankets.
"What?"asked Puck
"She's beautiful. A perfect angel." The baby looked at Abby and smiled, squirming in
her arms to get a better view of her surroundings.
Luna squealed, "I have a sister!"
Robin threw his hands up in trumiph, "I don't have to share my room." He looked
around at his parent's faces and coughed, "I'm glad I have a another sister."
Puck and Abby looked at each other smiling. Luna and Robin quickly scampered off the
bed and ran out of the room to tell the others about the new addition. Puck placed a
hand on his hip the other hand on the bed, "They took that well." Abby and Mina
nodded.
Mina kissed Abby's forehead, "Be well Abby and you too Puck."
Abby frowned,"You're leaving?"
Mina nodded,"Yes..Shiela still needs me or at least I need her...we haven't figured
it out yet. You need time to be with your baby..you don't need me to take up your
time."
Abby shook her head,"You know that's not true."
Mina giggled,"I know..but didn't it sound sincere. No, I want to stay with Shiela
alittle longer. We still need to catch up on a thousand years."
Puck walked over and hugged Mina,"Be well...and come back to visit anytime."
Mina nodded, Don't worry, I will. But I do not go without giving you our gifts."
Abby watched as two balls of light, one yellow and the other blue, floated from
Mina's hand to the baby. One bubble popped on the baby's nose and the other on her
hand, leaving a tiny silver ring. "Shiela and I give the baby the power to hide her
wings from this mortal world. It works like mine. And the ring will grow with her,
so you never have to worry about its size."
Puck nodded,"Thank you Mina."
"Yes, thank you."
Mina waved her hand,"Forget about it...you just better start thinking of a present
for me." Mina kissed her fingers and blew them to the couple and baby. Abby watched
as the room turned a rose colored hue and the blanket around the new baby grew roses
on the fabric. Mina disappeared using the Phoenix Gate. Puck crossed his arms with a
smile, "Show off."
Abby and Puck laughed at Mina. The nurse came over a put an I.V. into Abby's left
arm,"This should help you get your strength back.
Abby and Puck nodded to the nurse.
"So, do you think we should go tell the others?"
"That would be nice, Puck."
Puck picked up the baby and walked towards the door. He stopped and turned to
Abby,"What are we going to name her?"
Abby shrugged,"I don't know. We'll think of something..we always do"
Puck nodded and walked to the library's door. He stopped and quickly walked back to
Abby giving her a loving kiss, "Happy Valentine's Day Abigail."
"You too, Puck." Puck nodded and walked out of the room. Abby placed her hands
together and a white light grew from them. It engulfed her body and when it died
Abby was clean and ready for bed. She curled under the covers and slept.
David was the first to see Puck walk in with the baby in his arms.
"What is it?"
Puck sat down on the couch with the three kids,"It's a baby, Davie."
Fox laughed, "Is it a boy or girl?"
Puck smiled, "A girl."
Alex walked over and looked at the baby."Puck, what are those?"
Puck smiled, 'Well, your niece is alittle more Fey-looking then the twins, so she
inherited wings."
It was David's turn to chuckle,"ohh my father is going to love that."
Puck got a scared look on his face,"Well, as long as she has this ring on her
finger...we're not telling Petros"
Luna moved the blanket to look at the wings. Fox and David and got closer and looked
at their new granddaughter. Alex pointed to the ring."That looks like the same ring
Mina has to hide her wings."
Puck nodded and told them about the birth.
Luna held out her hands and Puck put the baby in her arms. The baby looked at Luna
with wide eyes. After deciding she liked this person, the baby squirmed to look at
the other people in the room.
After Puck had told them everything, Fox said,"She is beautiful."
Puck put his hands on his hips,"And you were expecting Quasimodo?"
Fox smirked at Puck.
David walked up to Luna and she gave him the baby. The baby sniffled and pulled
David's beard. He winced and the baby smiled. "Why is it that your children seem to
inherit your trickster tendencies?"
Puck took his daughter back,"Just lucky I guess."
Robin pulled at Puck's shirt,"How's mom?"
Puck nodded,"She's ok..just tired." Robin nodded. When everyone wasn't looking he
slipped out of the room to see Abby.
As he walked down the hall he could hear Alex say,"This will be so cool..Angela can
help the baby learn to fly with Ennis.
David cleared his voice,"By the way Puck, what is the baby's name?"
Robin got to the recovery room where his mother was being kept. He knocked on the
door and faintly hear his mom answer,"Come in."
He slowly opened the door and peaked in. The recovery room was just another guest
room but the furniture was more medical than stylish. Robin looked to his mother.
She was laying on the bed smiling at him. Robin saw that her dark brown hair was
alittle straighter than usual and strands were sticking to her cheeks. Robin walked
over and noticed the IV in Abby's left arm,"Mom, are you ok?"
Abby nodded,"I've been better....just tired."She tapped the side of the bed with her
right hand. Robin crawled next to her on the bed. Abby pushed a button and the bed
moved so Abby was sitting up. Robin rested his head on her chest and played with her
damp hair. Abby kissed the top of his head and stroked his cheek."What's wrong
Robin?"
Robin sighed,"If you're ok, why do you need an IV?"
Abby smiled,"Well, having a baby takes alot out of you..so the IV is to replace all
the water and good stuff I lost giving birth."
"Did it hurt as much as it looked?"
It was Abby's turn to sigh,"Ohh yeah. But don't worry...it's over and you have a new
sister."
Robin lifted his head up to look at Abby,"What are you going to call her?"
Abby shrugged,"I don't know yet. Your dad and I never really talked about it the way
we did with you two."Abby noticed Robin's face get soft and his eyebrows furrowed,
just like Puck's when he was upset,"Robin? please tell me what's wrong?"
Robin shrugged,"I don't know...it's just now that the baby is here..and with Ennis
too..everyone seems to notice them. They didn't even notice that I left."
Abby hugged her son,"Ohh baby, I'm sure they did. Just because the babies are here
doesn't mean we don't love you."Abby looked to the door and saw Puck sneak in. He
had heard what Robin had said.
"I was afraid for you too....I was afraid that you were going to die because Lex had
told us that's how our grandmother died."Robin sniffled.
Puck sat next to Abby and stroked Robin's head,"Robin, I did notice you leave...and
your mother is not going to die. Remember how I told you that she is immortal."
Robin sat up to look at his parents,"yeah."
Abby leaned against Puck,"You are immortal too..just like Luna and the new baby. We
will never leave you or stop loving you."
Puck smiled,"That's for sure."
Luna walked in carrying the baby,"Hey, dad, why did you leave?!"
Puck took the baby and handed her to Abby and then helped Luna up on the bed.
The baby looked at Abby and nestled closer to her and in no time was asleep.
Luna was smiling,"Wow....and she was in your belly?"
Abby nodded.
"Wow."
Robin was fine now and smiled back at Luna. "I hope she likes it here."
Puck smiled,"ohh she will, especially with her big brother and sister to help her
get into trouble."
"Puck, don't encourage them"said Abby
The whole Avalon family watched the new baby sleep and talked about the life she
have to look forward to living.
Puck smiled,"I have decided that the twins should come up with a name for the new
baby."
Abby smiled back,"I think that is a wonderful idea..guys?"
Robin's face lite up,"Really? we can name her?"
Luna clapped her hands.
Puck nodded,"Yup..so any ideas?"
Luna and Robin looked at each other and smiled. "Actually dad..we do."said Luna in a
manner that was just alittle too much like her father it gave Abby a chill.
Robin nodded,"Yup. We were thinking that since this baby is a new victory."
"That her name should be Victoria, Tori for short."finished Luna.
Robin nodded, "And Grace for a middle name because we think it's cool."
Puck and Abby looked at each other than at the baby, who was still fast asleep.
"Victoria Grace Avalon. I like it. "said Abby
"I do too....say you two aren't as dumb as you look." laughed Puck
"Hey." said Luna and Robin together with smiles on their faces.
"Well, you two better go tell the others that Tori has a name." The twins jumped off
the bed and ran out of the room.
Abby stroked the baby's cheek. Puck kissed Abby on the neck."You better watch it.
that's how we got into this mess."
He walked around the bed and laid down so he was facing Abby and able to see the
baby. Puck chuckled,"Yeah I guess so. She looks like you."
Abby shook her head,"Nah...she has your eyes."
"Your hair."
"Your mouth"
"Your beautiful face"
Abby smiled,"You are such a kiss up."
Puck laughed,"That's true."
Later that night, all the gargoyles had seen Tori and fussed over her, except for
Broadway who was chasing young Ennis, who was walking already, around the castle.
The baby had watched the little gargoyle with curiosity. Every time Ennis ran past,
squealing with laughter, the baby would flap, or try to flap, her wings with
excitement.
Angela, Elisa, Fox, and Abby had laughed so hard they were crying.
Brooklyn and Zoe played cards with Alex and the twins. Alex was beating the pants
off Brooklyn at poker. When names came up Brooklyn had said, What about Harley?"
Zoe shook her head and hit Brook in the arm."Just deal the cards Brook.
Lex tickling the baby's foot while Hudson was holding her.
"Och, why not name 'er after 'er mother."
Abby shook her head,"No, actually the twins named her Victoria Grace."
Hudson nodded,"A fine name at that..means virtuous victory, ya know."
Goliath and Elisa were sitting on a couch together. Hudson handed the baby to Elisa.
Elisa giggled. When everyone asked what was so funny she answered,"It was just..the
wings, the hair..she reminds me of Mina."
Puck looked at Abby. She had told him about the trick he had played on her a while
ago. Nimh had made her believe that she had slept with him to show her that if Puck
had cheated on her it was easy for her to cheat on him. Abby saw his eyes and shook
her head,"No Puck...it's your baby."
Elisa quickly added,"Oh no..not like that....I just wonder what she's up to now."
Puck answered,"She's ok. She's getting big though."
Little Ennis ran into the room. Angela quickly picked him up and sat him on her lap.
He sighed and accepted his defeat, leaning against Angela's chest. A few seconds
later, Broadway came in out of breath. He looked at Ennis, calmly sitting in
Angela's lap, and threw up his arms,"How does she do that?!"
Everyone laughed. Abby answered,"It's a mother thing."
After casting a few spells, Abby was completely healed from the birth. She looked at
herself in the mirror. Nodding with approval she slipped a white sundress on for
bed. She walked down the dark and silent halls to her bedroom. The kids were
sleeping by now and the gargoyles were patrolling or babysitting Ennis in their side
of the castle. After putting the twins to bed and answering the many questions they
had about babies and the birth, Abby was exhausted. As Abby got closer to her
bedroom, she heard Puck's voice. He was singing. She quietly snuck into her bedroom
and leaned against the wall. Puck was sitting in a rocking chair that faced their
windowseat. The baby and him had a blue glow around them from the full moon outside.
She leaned against the wall more and listened to Puck sing:
Goodnight, my angel
Time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Wherever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away
Goodnight, my angel
Now it's time to dream

Puck stood and walked over to the crib, humming the song. Abby could see the baby
starting the close her eyes. Abby slowly stood next to Puck. He handed the baby to
Abby. She kissed the baby's forehead and put her down in the crib. As the baby
touched the satin sheets, vines grew from the floor, wrapping around the crib. The
most beautiful red roses bloomed from the tiny dormant buds. Puck wrapped his arms
around Abby's waist and rested his head on her shoulder as he finished the song:
Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabyes go on and on..
They never die
That's how you
And I
Will be
"Goodnight, my angel." said Puck. Abby smiled at him and held his hands tighter.
"Now it's time to go to bed."
Abby whispered, "Goodnight Victoria. Umm, Puck, is that going to happen all the time
now?" She pointed to the roses.
Puck shook his head, "Nah, only on Valentine's Day. Fey babies that are born on this
mortal day are given the ability to make beautiful things and love often and
deeply."
Abby smiled, "We are truly blessed, although, I'm noticing a trend with our kids and
holidays. The twins were born on New Year's Day and now Tori on Valentine's day."
Puck smiled, "We're just lucky I guess."
Puck gently glided Abby to bed. It had been a long day for both of them and he
wanted nothing more than to go to bed with his wife in his arms.
The baby slept peacefully, flapping her wings while she dreamed of an island of pure
magick.
Titania smiled, as she walked through the mirror near the crib, at the baby. "Puck
is right..you truly are an angel..little Princess Victoria. As your grandmother, I
give you the love and trust you need with the knowledge that your grandfather will
never harm you. As your queen, I bestoy upon you the power soothe any argument with
just a touch for your hand upon the angry. A graceful victory you shall have to
uphold your name. "
Titania blew a kiss to the baby and returned to Avalon. Puck smiled from the
doorway. He wondered what he had done right to deserve this life, but he thanked
every star in the sky that this life was his own. He walked over and covered Tori
caressing her rosy chubby cheek with a finger. He quietly walked back to bed, where
Abby was waiting for him with open arms. "Anything wrong?"
"Nah, just a fairy grandmother coming to visit."
Abby was too tired to comprehend what he said and fell asleep.
2AM...
Victoria wailed, telling Abby she was hungry.
Puck and Abby slowly opened their eyes, looked at the clock and started to laugh.
"Why did we want another baby again?"
Puck sat up and rubbed his eyes,"Ask me again in 7 hours...I'll remember then."
Abby playfully threw a pillow at Puck and walked into the little room that adjoined
their bedroom, that had been designated the nursery. Abby picked up Victoria and sat
in the rocking chair and began to feed her.
After a long time, Puck opened his eyes again to see Abby wasn't back. He wrapped
himself up in a blanket and walked to the nursery. Abby was sound asleep in the
rocking chair, but had been able to put Tori back to bed before she did. Puck just
smiled and picked Abby up off the chair. She opened her eyes and yawned, "Hey"
"Hey, you want me to bring you to bed or would you like to stay here?"
Abby wrapped her arms around Puck's neck, "Bed."
Puck turned and slowly walked to their bed. He slowly laid her down and covered her
with blankets. He crawled next to her and went back to sleep.
