Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Z
Act Two: Sailor Mercury
* * * * *
"Bunny, get up!" Trunks called from the bottom of the staircase. Monday morning
had rolled around, a full two days since she first transformed. Luna didn't live
with them, instead the guardian feline lived with Goten so Trunks wouldn't get
suspicious. Now today, Bunny had to go to Gohan's for tutoring, something she
wasn't fond of. She appriciated what Gohan did, but as a teenager schooling
wasn't something she did for fun. She snored on, never hearing her fathers
calls. When he didn't hear her stir, he started up the stairs. Going to her
door, he called for her again with the same responce.
"Serenity Briefs, get your lazy butt out of bed!" He barked. Bunny was up, and
with a yell fell out of bed. She sat up to see her father staring at her. A
sheepish grin crossed her face as she stood up and moved for the door. She went
to the bathroom to take a welcome bath. She was a mass of cramps and bruises
after that first battle and decided a nice, long soak in the hot water would
make her feel better. Looping her pigtails and placing her buns in in a shower
cap, she started the running water. Noticing how red the scar on her chest was,
she lightly touched it. It felt raw and stung horribly but there was nothing she
could really do about it. No one knew how she got it and it kinda made her a
little nervous. She remembered...vaguely...that the day Goten discovered it, she
had been having a nightmare. In the dream she was so filled with greif at seeing
a man die that she took a crystal sword and plunged it through her heart. She
thought it was just a coiencidence and never brought the dream up. Occasionally
she would have similar dreams to that, never seeing herself run herself through
though, and always wondered who 'Endymion' was. Oh well. Sinking down in the
warm water until the diamond shapped scar vanished, she tilted her head back.
Gohan wouldn't be upset if she was a little late today. After being 'attacked'
on Saturday, he said she should come in sometime before noon. She heard her
father yell up to her that he had an important meeting all day and that Goten
would give her a lift at 11:30, the current time being eight. He soon ran out of
the house, never noticing the coffee stain on his pants. (When Bulma called and
told him that he was late, he spit it out and all over him. Now we know where
Bunny gets her late streak)
"Endymion..." She murmured. She fell into a twilight sleep, where she began to
dream while she was was awake. In this dream she was hiding behind a wall to see
two men talking. One had black hair and wore armor while the other had white
hair to his shoulders and wore a grey uniform with a cape. The man in armor had
heard her and turned to see her. Before she could see his face however, a gloved
hand fell to her shoulder which violently tore her from the dream. She gasped
and jumped a little. Realising it was just a dream she ran a wet cloth over her
face. Glancing up at a waterproof clock/radio, she was that it was about 8:30.
She turned the radio on, which was on the news today. It seemed that the media
was in a panic. Sailor V, the most beloved crime fighter since the time of
Saiyaman, had vanished after Sailor Moon arrived. Bunny blinked and finally
stood, draining the now cold water. Drying herself off and removing the cap she
returned to her room and went through her closet to find something to wear.
Something that hid the scar. That did nothing to narrow the feild, every last
top she owned hid it. She finally settled on a Sailor V shirt and a pair of
jeans. She let her pigtails down and went down stairs and to the kitchen to get
something to eat. Her father was in a hurry this morning so the food was stocked
up.
"Let's see...oh! Pop-Tarts!" She squealed, pulling some cherry filled ones out.
Opening them and dropping them in the toaster to heat up, she went to the
refridgerator to get some milk.
"I've got a long while before Goten-oji comes for me. Maybe I should go check
out the arcade again..." She said, thinking outloud. Eating her pop-tarts and
drinking her milk, she wrote a message for Goten, grabbed her shoes, and left
the house. It was a sunny day today, a perfect arcade day. She walked past Juban
Junior High to see a bunch of kids whispering to one another. Stopping outside
the main gate to listen in, she spotted a girl who looked...seperate from the
others. She wore a different kind of uniform than everyone else, hers was black.
She also wore glasses and was leafing through what seemed to be a copy of a
student hand book. Bunny could hear some of the whispers, and one caught her
attention. Someone said the girl had an I.Q of 300!
"She must be smart like Obaasan..." She whispered to herself. The girl exited
the gate and walked by her. Bunny smiled and waved, calling out to the girl. She
stopped for a moment and looked around to see who she could possibly be talking
to. Realizing the girl was talking to her, she spoke.
"Are you...talking to me?" She shyly asked. Bunny giggled.
"No silly. I'm talking to the smart girl next to you. Of course you!" She said.
The girl blushed a little and looked down. Bunny pulled her to a bench and sat
her down.
"I'm Tsukino Bunny, what's your name?" She asked. The girl blinked, thinking how
much she resembled Serenity Breifs but didn't bring it up. She pulled her
glasses off to speak.
"I'm Mizuno Ami. Um...what school do you go to Bunny?" She asked, finally
noticing the lack of a school uniform or an identification badge on her. Bunny
grinned, and gave a little peace sign,
"I don't go to school, I'm tutored by a family friend every other day." She
explained, not bothering to give a reason behind that. Ami just nodded a little.
Bunny grinned again, getting Ami to smile a little to.
"So do you go to Juuban Junior High?" She asked. Ami nodded some and held the
hand book so the bubbly girl could look through it.
"My mother enrolled me today and I start next week when they have enough text
books for me. I take a lot of extra science classes." She explained, noticing a
look of confusion on Bunny's face. The girl was whining about how schools had
way to many rules and rambled on about how her tutor Son Gohan didn't have as
many rigid rules.
"Gohan's cool. He lets me have snack breaks and regular breaks when I need them.
He's a really neat guy. His daughter is one of my friends and we're going
shopping this Saturday. Oh! Hey Ami, I know! Let's go to the arcade! It's only
nine right now, and I don't have to be there for another three hours and then I
get out when the schools do!" Bunny said. Before Ami could say anything, the
blonde grabbed her arm and proceeded to drag her down the street. Bunny ignored
her cries until they were well in the arcade and she was pulling out her token
bag. Ami looked to the Sailor V game where Bunny had plopped herself infront of.
She dropped a token in and began to play, trying to explain the game as she went
along. Ami wathed, almost as if she were analyzing the game. A little time
passed and Goten walked in with Luna riding on his shoulder, clutching to his
shirt for dear life. He had been flying and she wasn't willing to put the theroy
of cats haveing nine lives to the ultimate test. Bunny frowned.
"It's hard and I suck at it." She admitted. Goten would have said something, but
Bunny had a temper she aquired from Vegeta. She looked at her new friend. Goten
reccognised her. Gohan was talking about a high school genious who always made
perfect scores on all the national tests. This must have been her.
"Hey Ami, you wanna try? I've got a continue." Bunny offered. Ami moved to the
chair and began to play. Luna's eyes narrowed as she saw a faint glow that was
hidden by the tints in her hair. Ami played calmly, never noticing the large
crowed gathering around her. Motoki worked his way through the now dense crowd
to see what was going on. Was one of the games fritzing again?
"Motoki, come see this!" Bunny called. Goten floated up a few inches when he
realised he could have yelled 'Bunny is Sailor Moon!' and no one would have
heard him or noticed. His eyes went wide as he saw the girl, Ami's, score. It
was in the millions! He dropped back to the ground to also move through the
crowd. Finally, as Ami typed in her initials in the number one slot, something
dropped into her lap.
"I guess I won a prize." She said. It was a pen. Kind of odd looking, but a pen
was a pen. She pocketed it and noticed Bunny get a little jealous.
"I want one..." She said before shaking the machine, screaming at it.
"C'mon you stupid machine! Gimme a prize too!!" She screamed. Motoki shouted
that she'd break it, but before she actually could, another pen, one with a
little moon on the body and a jewled cap, plopped out and into her hands.
"Yay!" She said, kissing it a few times. Ami said something about her being so
funny, but it was lost in her giggles.
"Bunny, you're a nut!" Motoki told her before checking to make sure the game
still worked. It did. Bunny gave a little peace sign again.
"I don't mean to. Hey Ami, wanna hang out again sometime? Go have ice cream?
Goten-oji here'll buy!" She said. Goten sharply glared at he before smiling and
rubbing Bunny's head. Ami smiled some.
"That'd be great...but I have to go now to my cram school, Crystal Acadamy." She
said. Standing and bowing, the girl walked out. Bunny sighed and also walked out
with Goten who called for Nimbus. Bunny hopped on the cloud after Luna said a
cloud couldn't carry someone, proving her wrong.
"Your friend is something else Bunny." Goten commented once they had safely
snuck off. Luna nodded some from her place in Bunny's lap.
"Yes...and I have a feeling I know what too..."
"Gohan-san! Gohan-san, I'm here!" Bunny called as she kicked her shoes off and
ran inside. Goten followed soon after to see Bunny sit down at the kitchen table
where her lessons for the day were spread out. Gohan came out from the bathroom
after a little bit and groaned as he watched his brother raid his refridgerator.
"Goten, what are you doing?" He asked. The younger man poked his head out long
enough for a 'hello' before returning to what he had been doing. Gohan rolled
his eyes and sat down next to Bunny, who was grinning from ear to ear.
"Did you meet Sailor V or something Bunny?" He asked. Bunny shook her head.
"Nope! Even better! The Sailor V game gives out prizes now and my new friend Ami
got this cool pen and so did I!" She said, waving the jeweled item around
happily. Goten sat down next to them with a small mountain of food.
"You had to beat the crap out of the machine to get it." He told her. Bunny
blushed before opening her mathbook to the page she was on to ask questions.
Goten, not wanting to have to listen to the lessons, took Luna and walked
outside. Sitting on the grass, he let the cat down as he saw Videl walking up
towards the door.
"Hey Goten." She greeted. He waved a little and Luna meowed, bowing her head
some. Videl kneeled down to scratch the cat behind its ears.
"She's so pretty. Goten, I didn't know you had a cat. What's your name?" Videl
asked. Luna started to talk, but bit her own tounge to shut herself up. She
couldn't let anyone know about this...'ability' of hers. Goten had found out on
accident and Luna would NOT tell anyone not involved with the Senshi. Luckily
Goten had caught what the cat was about to do and ran his hand over her head to
hide the fact she had bitten her own tounge.
"Her name's Luna. I found her the other day." He said. It was the truth. Wasn't
the WHOLE truth, but it was the truth. He'd hung out with Trunks for FAR to
long. He had learned out to lie without lying. Videl didn't notice Luna's
drastic actions and smiled.
"Well, she's very pretty. So are you waiting on Bunny to get out of class?"
Videl asked her brother-in-law. He nodded. Luna had said earlier she wanted to
investigate that Ami Mizuno. Videl smiled and walked inside, telling him
good-bye, and dropped something from her arms. Luna walked over to find a flyer
for that cram school Ami said she attended.
"Goten look. This must be Crystal." She said. Goten looked over. Sure enough, it
was. They advertised their disk method and used a picture of Ami as a promotion.
Luna looked to her current owner.
"Goten, we should go check Crystal out." She said. He looked at the cat with a
look of disgust.
"Luna, it's a school. What could go wrong in a school?" He asked. The cat
scratched his face, forcing him to jump up, yelping. She hissed at him and he
decided they SHOULD go check it out. It was quite suspicious after all. Sticking
his head in to tell Bunny that he had to go somewhere for a little bit he lifted
Luna up, held tight, and flew off towards Tokyo...
Goten snored on as he slept on his couch, where he had crashed last night due to
exhaustion. Luna had him follow Ami all over the city last, like she was trying
to prove something. Luna groaned at they wat he was acting. She would have
called Bunny, but Goten explained her schedual. Since today was Tuesday, she
would be in training with her Ojiisan during school hours. Another reason Luna
couldn't go was due to the fact that Bunny's grandfather lived at Capsule Corp.
where her father worked. Luna would not risk being spotted by the man. He had
seen her before, going through his stuff to find that letter. So instead, the
Cat found herself an open window in his bedroom to escape from.
"Tsk tsk tsk. Goten, honestly. If you keep window like these open, any theif
could just wander in..." She said as she slipped outside. Luckily for the cat,
Goten lived in Tokyo. Stretching herself out, she began to walk towards Juuban
Junior High where Ami now attended. She wanted to see if she could find out
anything about the girl. She'd been typing away all night in the control room
and had had about three hours of sleep. She had been uploading anything she
could find on Bunny to watch her growth over time. So far, the only unclassified
information on her was that her real name was Serenity Breifs and her most basic
information. The information on Trunks was detailed, but when one got to Bunny,
it was heavily guarded. Now, the thing that got Luna was that the passwords had
been done in Lunarian and it had read that only the Princess could access the
information. Luna began to think that the princess had already awakened. She
shoved the thoughts to the back of her mind when she arrived at the school gate.
School had another half hour, thus so did Bunny. The cat squeezed through the
bars on the gate and made her way to another open window. Peering in, she saw
the girl she had been looking for. Ami Mizuno. She was in a Chemistry class at
the time.
'She takes such advanced classes for someone her age. Such great intellengence...perhaps
she's the princess?' Luna thought. A few moments passed before Ami got up to
leave. Luna ran to the open door and went to find her.
"The school is so big...where is she?" Then Luna remembered her excellene in the
Sailor V game the previous day and began to look for the computer lab. Finding
it, she peered in to find it empty of anyone except for Ami. Rubbing her
temples, the girl popped a disk out of the hard drive.
"My head is killing me. I can't get into this disk method Crystal uses. Good ol'
note taking feels better." She muttered to her self as she used the pen she won
the previous day to begin to take notes. As she sat it down to rub her hand a
little, Luna hopped onto her head and down to her lap, startling her.
"Oh! You startled me! Oh, I remember you. Your Bunny's ojisan's kitty aren't
you?" Ami asked. With that, Bunny wandered in, in her training clothes.
"Goten-oji isn't really my ojisan. He's my 'tousan's best friend in the whole
world. They grew up togather. If something happens to my 'tousan, my obaasan, my
ojiisan, and my obasan Bra, he has legal custody of me." She explained as she
pulled up a chair to sit down next to her friend. She reached out to pet Luna.
"What about your Okaasan?" Ami asked. Bunny's mood darkened a little.
" 'Kaasan...'kaasan died when I was very little. 'Tousan said she was shot to
death while we were gone." She said, pulling her hand away from Luna. Ami gasped
at that. Her mother had been murdered while she was an infant? Ami's parents had
divorced due to conflicting interests. And even though she never saw her father,
atleast she knew he still loved her. Bunny would never know that. Ami assumed
her parents had divorced as well. It was awful.
"Gomen nasai..." She whispered.
"It's okay Ami-chan. You didn't know." Bunny explained. She then smiled once
more when she noticed Ami had been using the pen she won the other day.
"Hey! You've been using the special pen! Me too!" Bunny told her, pointing to
the jeweled item in her own pocket. Ami smiled as well before hearing in the
hall that someone had signed up for Crystal.
"I have to be going Bunny..." Ami explained. She remembered what her teacher had
said the previous day, how everyone was trying to catch up with herand that she
needed to keep raising her level. Getting up and gathering her things, Ami left.
Bunny blinked as she watched her friend leave the school. Then she noticed the
disk still in the computer.
"Luna, Ami left her disk behind!" She cried. Grabbing it, she ran for the school
entrance to try and catch up with the girl.
'It's times like these....that I wish I could fly like 'tousan!' She thought.
She rounded the corner that led outside the gate and as she did, she bumped into
someone, dropping a Crystal flyer that Pan had given her from Gohan.
"Ow! Hey, watch it Odango!" A familiar voice came. Bunny opened her eyes and
looked up from where she was sitting to see the man from the Osa*P jewelery
store. Growling, Bunny jumped up.
"BUNS! THESE ARE BUNS YOU LOW INTELLEGENCE, LOWER CLASS, NO GOOD, WORTHLESS
HUMAN! BUNS!!!!" She screamed at the man at the top of her lungs, pulling rank
on him. She was, after all, Serenity Briefs. The daughter of Trunks Briefs who
was the son of Bulma Briefs who owned the largest and richest company in the
world. He couldn't compare to her. She was always invited to every big social
event. She was better than he was.
"Bunn-meow!" Luna said as she finally noticed the man. His attention shifted to
Luna.
"Did I just hear that cat talk?" He asked. Bunny blushed and hasitly made an
excuse before grabbing Luna and starting to run off again. Snorting, the man
began to walk on once more before stepping on the paper. He stopped to lift it
up and read it...
"Luna, Ami's gone and I don't think Crystal would let us in during a class."
Bunny said as she carried the cat down to her basement slash arcade. Luna
grabbed the disk out of the girl's hand and moved to one of the two computers
sitting next to the wall.
"Then we'll have to find out what's on the disk ourselves." Luna explained.
Popping it int the A drive, she began to type when Bunny caught the sound of her
father's footsteps heading for the door leading to the basement. Popping it back
out and dropping Luna under the desk she looked up to see him.
"Hey Bunny. I got out of my meeting early." Trunks said. Bunny smiled a little.
"Cool! Um, hey 'Tousan, have you heard anything about the Crystal Cram school?"
She asked. Luna blinked. What was Bunny getting at? Trunks chuckled a little.
"Heard about it? It's all Gohan-san talks about really. He thinks it;s a great
place to study at. Even Chichi-san wishes it were around when Gohan-san was
little." He explained. Luna nodded. Bunny was collecting information. Very
smart. Something to add to her Senshi Profile.
"My new friend goes there every day after school. Her name's Mizuno Ami." She
explained. Trunks nodded a little before sorting through the mail.
"I've heard of her. The smart girl right? She's supposidly as smart as Gohan-san
was at that age. She'll grow up to be like him, lemme tell you." He said. Bunny
giggled.
"So you mean she'll become a level two Super Saiya-jin and defeat a killer
android from the future using the Kamehameha wave with only one arm?" She asked.
Trunks rubbed her head, shoving her down a little.
"You know what I mean!" He said, laughing as well. He stood up and handed her a
letter.
"This came for you today. It's an invite to that ball next week. You gonna go?"
He asked. Shrugging, Bunny took it and shelved it. Trunks smiled again and
walked up the stairs to go take a nap before meeting Goten for some sparring.
"Okay Luna, it's clear." The girl whispered once she was sure he couldn't hear
her,
"Was that your otousan Bunny? He seems very kind." Luna told her. Bunny nodded,
smiling.
"That's my 'Tousan. He spoils me all the time. Ojiisan doesn't think he should.
He wants me to be a great fighter, but 'tousan wants me to be who I want to be.
I love him for that. But Ojiisan has some good ideas as well. I just don't know
who I should be like. It's really confusing me." She explained. Luna blinked.
"Bunny, who is your ojiisan? What's his name?" She asked.
"His name is Vegeta." Luna's eyes went wide.
"He's a Saiya-jin."
"He's the king now." Bunny told her, smiling.
"So that would make your father and your aunt a prince and princess? Making
you...?" Luna began. Bunny nodded before popping the disk back in, interrupting
her. Luna began to type a little. Nothing happened. So Bunny shook the computer,
hitting it a few times.
"Bunny, I agree with Motoki! You're a nut!!" Luna yelped. Bunny yelped too as a
voice came over the headphones connected top the speakers. Pulling them on for a
second, Bunny listened and looked at Luna.
"Luna, it's telling people to become slaves to some great master and to find the
Ginzuishou!" Bunny told her. Luna gasped.
"Bunny, your hitting it must have forced a subleminal message to play over the
lessons." Luna said. Bunny blinked.
"Sub-whatemal?" She asked.
"An illegal form of technology. A message plays at fixed intervals and is so
short it can't be noticed but over time it makes you obey it." She explained.
Bunny gasped. And this was Ami's disk!
"Luna, does this mean Ami-chan's been brainwashed?! We've gotta help her!" Bunny
cried. Grabbing her friend, writing a hasty note for her father and pulling her
shoes on, Bunny ran out of the basement via the outside door. She called for
Nimbus, hopped on and headed for Crystal.
"We've gotta save her..." Bunny said. Not long after Bunny jumped into an alley
near the cram school.
"Wait Bunny, you can't just barge on in there! You need a disguise!" Luna
called. Bunny spun on her heel to face her companion.
"What are you talking about?" She asked.
"Use the pen you got the other day. Wave it high in the air and call out 'Moon
Power' and tell it what to change you into!" Luna said.
"Cool! Moon Power! Change me into a doctor!" Bunny told it. Her clothes altered
and so did her hair. It was cropped short now. Bunny didn't notice or care.
Changed into this new form, she ran inside, to see the teacher choking Ami.
"You haven't used the disk! You're not brainwashed like the others!" The teacher
cried.
"I don't need your methods...I can learn on my own...!" Ami said, struggling to
breathe. Bunny slammed the door open.
"I've heard there's an emergancy requiring my assistance!" She yelled. The
teacher slammed Ami into one of the desks.
"We don't need your help doctor." The woman said, bareing fangs and turning into
a monster. Bunny took a slight step back before getting her nerve again.
"I'm afraid you're wrong! That's MY friend, and no one hurts my family OR my
friends!" She said. Ami looked up.
"Moon Prisim Power, Make UP!" Bunny called. Pulling the wing clips out of her
hair she threw them at the teacher slash monster. The monster growled and
threw...tests at her?
"Ah! Papercut! Owie! I hate tests! Make it stop!!" Bunny shouted, wanting to
cry. Luna jumped up onto the desk.
"Don't cry Sailor Moon! Your shrieks will amplify and blow the computers out!"
She called. Ami blinked. Bunny was Sailor Moon? Goten's cat turned to her and
smiled. Unknown to Ami, that strange birthmark she had that rarely appeared,
had.
"Ami-chan, do you rememebr that pen you got? Grab it, now!" The cat ordered.
Wondering if all that studying had gone to her brain, Ami nodded. She was now
taking orders from a talking cat! Maybe this was just a dream. Doing as she was
told, she grabbed the pen and felt a strange snesation overcome her. A familiar
one though. Like something she knew was in her memory, but couldn't remember.
"Where did this fog come from?!" The monster cried. Bunny looked around, but
couldn't see it. A male voice called out to her as someone lifted her up.
"Now Sailor Moon!" The voice shouted. Bunny kicked at it as hard as she could.
"Sailor Moon Kick!" She yelled. The attack was now Ki powered and slammed the
creature into a wall. Sailor Moon looked up to see Tuxedo Kamen tip his hat to
her and leave through a window. She began to drool slightly but Luna grabbed her
pigtail to bring her back to reality. Bunny pulled the Tiara off and it clipped
into the frisbee.
"Moon Frisbee!" She shouted. It tore through the creature, dewstroying it
instantly. Luna ran to gather the tossed items as the fog cleared. She came
back.
"Ami, where are you?" Bunny asked. Turning, a figure began to become clear. A
girl in a Sailor fu'ku not unlike Bunny's. Hers was various shades of blue and
had no sleeves. She had blue hair and a blue symbol glowing on her forehead
before the blue stone Tiara appeared over it.
"Ami, is that you?" Bunny called. The girl looked at Bunny and stood up, looking
herself over. Bunny noticed a change in her own uniform. The choker turned red
and the knot that held it tied togather vanished. Her boots reversed colors and
began to shrink. The bands on her gloves turned red and began to shrink as well
and the blue stone on her brooch lit up as well. Then Luna began to speak.
"I knew I was right, soldier of wisdom and protected by Mercury. Mizuno Ami is
Sailor Mercury!" She said. Ami blinked.
"Me? I...I'm a Sailor Senshi? Bunny, what other secrets do you have?" She asked.
Bunny was hopping up and down happily.
"Yay! Ami's in the group now! I'm not the only one!" She said. Luna and Ami
sweat-dropped...
"Jadeite!" A voice barked loudly. Jadeite knelt down before a truly fearsome
woman.
"Yes...my queen?" He asked, his voice shaking noticeably. The woman frowned.
"That's...strike two. You have one last chance to retreive the Ginzuishou. Do
not fail me again!" She yelled. Another man spoke up.
"Queen Beryl, allow me, Nephlite, to search." He said. Jadeite looked up at
Queen Beryl.
"My queen, I assure you, I won't fail again! I'll destroy those miserable Senshi
and retreive the crystal!" He said, begging now in his voice. The woman growled
and told him it was his last chance and if he failed, he would be wise to never
set foot in the Dark Kingdom again.

Notes-
In this chapter Luna begins to think that perhaps Bunny could be the Moon
Princess since she is a Saiya-jin princess. Luna is unaware that Bunny was
adopted by Trunks and Bunny doesn't know she was either. Trunks doesn't want to
tell her. This is a conversation between Trunks and Goten.
'Hey man, do you ever plan on telling Bunny she's adopted?'
'Of course I do! What kind of heartless man do you take me for?!'
'...your fathers son...'
'I know exactly when I'm gonna tell her!'
'When?'
'On my deathbed.'
That's the end of this series for now!
