::Chapter 4::
KeriKoe plucked the dark petals off of the deep red rose softly while talking to herself. "That girl…Reenie. Teero wants her so much when she’s just a child and he has me. That dreadful child. I will kill her somehow."
"KeriKoe!" she looked up as waves of brown hair fell over her pale face. "Yes, Prince Teero?"
"Ah, KeriKoe. She is coming out today. My Reenie has been locked up in that room for two days, and for two days I have not been able to see her face as closely for she has been fighting. She is beautiful, and Wickedlady will be even more beautiful. Look, the mirror shows her face. She is destined to be mine."
"Yes, Prince Teero, but remember this: your army is not yet formed and the ancient says you will have to wait longer to reach Reenie. I still do not see why you just sit and wait when you could form an army with your own power."
"Because if I formed an army with my power," Teero growled, "I would be weakened by the loss of so much energy going into my soldiers. Tell the general today the training intensifies, and that if any soldier can not handle it, he is to be mocked, ridiculed and killed mercilessly as an example to the others. No, not killed, we need every soldier we can get, he is to be beaten. Flogged!"
KeriKoe raised an eyebrow. "We wait and wait and wait. Master, why do we listen to the ancient? A wise man once told me 'when you want something you take it'. I believe that wise man was you, Master, was it not?" she spoke smoothly, slowly, unhurried. Teero smiled. "It was. KeriKoe, I believe you are right. I shall send you to find Reenie. Search every planet in this universe, and when you find her, report back to me. My army should be ready by then. You are truly a dark angel, KeriKoe." He laughed and went to his chambers.
KeriKoe seethed with anger. This was not her plan. "Reenie…you shall pay for this spell you have bound on my Master. You shall pay…" she threw the rest of the flower down, stepped on it, and prepared herself for take-off.
~~On Earth~~
The sun shined in Reenie’s face as she smiled at the shocked faces of everyone in front of her. Mirai Trunks, Gohan, Goten and Trunks and Dende all were agape at how much she had grown.
Mirai Trunks was trying hard not to smile when he saw Goten and Trunks whispering about how pretty she was and how much older she looked. "Her face, she looks just like a princess…"
"Shut up, Goten, she’ll hear."
"So what, maybe she’ll hug me first."
"You’re sick."
"Shut up. She’ll hear."
"She’s not taller than us yet."
"But we’re younger."
"So? I’m gonna get her."
"What?"
"You know…"
"You’re sick"
"I didn’t mean like that. I mean I’m gonna fight her. See how much her power’s grown."
"You’re still sick."
"Shut UP!"
Gohan was just amazed. Reenie…that eleven-year-old…she was grown! Well, she was still younger than he was, but only by one year, he knew that since Bulma had finally told her age. Her face…it was so calm, so serene! And her eyes…they sparkled practically. Her hair was shiny, as if it were covered in a glossy wetness. It fluttered around her face like a halo. The shorts were way too short for his taste, and the shirt needed to be longer, but she was so…beautiful? No, she was beyond that. Her lips were pink, as if she had lipstick on, and her cheeks were tinted with pink. Her bangs had straightened somewhat and she looked…stunning.
Not to mention her power. Yes, it was true she was stronger and more agile, but she had some very powerful attacks, he could sense them. But why was she so calm…she seemed a different person. He was crazy, he had to be.
Finally, he smiled when she looked at him. "Gohan…" she felt something in her snap. ‘I’m going to beat you so bad!’
‘Not Likely.’ The words fluttered through her mind in remembrance. "Gohan! You owe me a fight!" she yelled at him, and he was startled. "I do?" he asked, looking around at the others. "Yes, you do! And Mirai Trunks! You owe me a fight too! Goten, Trunks!"
She ran down the steps and hugged one after the other. "So now I’m older than both of you guys."
"And you stink, too." Goten said. "Yeah, when’s the last time you had a bath?" Trunks chimed in. Reenie laughed. "You two haven’t changed much in two days." Goten smiled as Trunks did.
"Everybody ready to go home? I’m hungry!"
Gohan smiled at Mirai Trunks. "She hasn’t changed much, either." He whispered. "Yeah, Gohan, she has."
Dende smiled. "Reenie, you’ve grown so much. Come back and visit any time guys!"
He yelled as they took off, Reenie in Gohan’s arms. She waved, waiting for the right time to ambush him in the air.
A few miles away from home, Reenie jumped out of Gohan’s arms and fell into the air. "Catch me if you can!" she yelled up at all of the guys, who were scared for her sake. They bolted downward, but Reenie was going too fast. She went through one cloud and disappeared.
"You see where she went?" Gohan asked Mirai Trunks, frantically searching for her. "We can’t find her!" Goten and Trunks said in unison. "I’m right here!" Reenie popped up and kicked Gohan and Mirai Trunks in the back from behind, then sped off toward home. Mirai Trunks blew steam out his ears. "That’s it!" he changed into Super Saiy-jin and sped off toward Reenie. Gohan laughed and followed as did Trunks and Goten.
Reenie was home and sped straight behind Goku, who, knocked off guard, fell over. Vegeta practically jumped out of his skin when the pink thing came hurtling at Goku. "What the he—Reenie, is that you?"
Reenie peeked out from behind a tree and rushed towards Vegeta. "No, no, Reenie…!" Too late. He was on the ground with Reenie’s arms around his waist in a second. "Onegai Vegeta-san." She said with her hand behind her head. "But I’m glad to see you. Did you miss me?"
Like crazy is how much he missed her. It was so boring around here without her. No one to laugh at everything. "I can’t believe you’re home. Why didn’t you stay in the Chamber longer? It would have made everyone a whole lot happier." He said. Reenie smiled. "I missed you too, Vegeta."
"Ahem." Reenie turned around and hugged Goku. "And how could I forget about you? It’s only been two days but it feels like I haven’t seen you in years, Son Goku!" Goku smiled. "Reenie? Reenie!" Reenie turned and hugged Bulma. "Hai, Bulma, it’s me."
"Look at you, you’ve grown so much!" Bulma stepped back to admire the fourteen-year-old. "And so pretty…I hope you’re not still a—"
"Tomboy? Bulma! I never was." Reenie giggled. "No, I guess not. Chichi is gonna freak! Come on!" Bulma grabbed the girl and pulled her toward the house.
"Where the heck is Reenie?" Mirai Trunks demanded when he touched down. "Inside." Vegeta said knowingly. Mirai Trunks turned. "With your mother." Vegeta continued, forcing a laugh to stay down. Mirai Trunks paled. "Just wait till I get her alone. She better run…"
He turned and headed inside followed by Gohan, Goten and Trunks.
"Well, Kakkorrot."
"Yes, Vegeta?"
"We could have our fight right now."
"We could."
Vegeta looked at Goku and Goku looked back. He couldn’t stand the softness in Goku’s eyes. He would find a way to look past that softness and finally beat him, Saiy-jin to Saiy-jin. "But we won’t, because I want to train harder. Not because I think you could actually hurt me, but because the girl is here. She would…interfere."
He turned and walked inside.
Goku grinned. "Whatever you say, Vegeta."
~~On the MOON PALACE~~
"You guys ready?" Luna asked the Senshi.
"No," replied Venus, speaking for all of them, "but let’s go." The Senshi gathered around in a circle and held hands. Serenity stood in the middle, her regularly silver hair the color blonde. She held up her hands in her Queen Attire and her hair began to swish.
"Venus Star Power!"
"Jupiter Star Power!"
"Mercury Star Power!"
"Uranus Star Power!"
"Neptune Star Power!"
"Saturn Star Power!"
"Mars Star Power!"
"Moon Cosmic Power!"
Everyone looked once more at the Moon Palace before yelling, "Sailor Planet Power Teleport!" and they began to spin until they were a blur of colors, and then they disappeared altogether.
Luna watched Pluto close her eyes and sigh. "Good luck, Sailor scouts. You’re really, really going to need it." Luna nodded in agreement and blinked away her tears. Darien had refused to go and was now suffering from a broken heart.
He missed both his daughter and his wife.
Teero opened his eyes. "Ancient. Welcome."
"This place I am only welcome because of my gift, Prince." Said an old, cackling voice which sounded like it was wheezing terribly. "When you have what you want, I shall be of no more use to you." He spoke slowly and coughed between his words. "What will you do with me then?" he asked more himself than Teero. "Use you still! There are a great many battles to be won by you. How can one take over the galaxy otherwise?
"Anyway, what news have you for me, ancient?"
"No news you haven’t heard before, Prince Teero. Except one thing."
"I am interested. Humor me."
"Ah, but I doubt it is laughing you will be when I tell you that the one called Reenie is to fall in love with someone other than my prince."
Teero swallowed. "Is she now? Who? This Gohan she never speaks with? Or perhaps Goten, or Trunks? Do not ridicule me, ancient, I shall have you killed if you do."
"Be calm, prince. You can keep her from falling in love with the boy, Gohan. But you can not keep him from falling in love with her. But, if you try, remember this warning: a handsome man is very attractive, but a fallen bird is what gets the woman. Figure out the riddle, but I would figure it out before I cause corruption on Gohan."
The ancient smiled. "A very wise prince you are. But not a very patient one. Soon, Prince Teero of Darkness. Soon."
Teero seethed with anger. How dare that ancient try to bring misfortune upon him and his castle? How dare he! How dare Teero should have to wait for his queen. And where was KeriKoe? He’d forgotten he’d sent her away.
This waiting was new to him. He should have just kidnapped Reenie in the first place.
~~On EARTH~~
"So just as I was about to leave for the second time she starts making fun of you guys, especially Gohan, which I can understand," he glared at her, "but I got all mad and stuff and I attacked her. You should have seen me. I forgot what I yelled but whatever it was it almost killed her…I think. It was so cool, you guys should have seen it." Reenie was talking on and on about her training in the Time Chamber, going over every detail in its fullest form. Chichi and Bulma were there along with the guys.
"You don’t look any stronger." Gohan pointed out bluntly. "Well I am." She fired back. "Maybe even stronger than you, the so-called "strongest man on earth"." Everyone looked back and forth between the two.
Gohan stiffened. "I’d like to see that."
She grinned. "Let’s go."
Gohan and Reenie stood to go outside for a fight when Chichi raised her hands. "This is Reenie’s first day back, Gohan. No fighting. None at all."
"Well she—"
"Well he—"
They glared at each other. Then, Reenie smiled. "I’d like you to know, I’ve grown up, and I don’t have to fight babyish boys like you to prove it, so ha!" And she turned then walked out of the room and up the stairs to her own room.
Gohan glanced at everyone around him. "I told you. I’m never getting married, and that’s the reason." He gestured to Reenie’s closed door and stalked out of the room.
Bulma giggled. Then, everyone started laughing and they couldn’t stop. "You know what this means." Chichi said. "Another Bulma and Vegeta coming right up."
Bulma and Vegeta glared at her. "And what do you mean by that?" he demanded at the same time she yelled, "What about you and Goku?"
Thus began another argument between husband and wives. Goku stayed out of it; he valued his life.
Upstairs, Reenie took a shower and washed her hair. She also took this time to think.
As the steamy water cleared her body of any dirtiness, she wondered aloud. "If I’m just a regular girl, which obviously I’m not, then howcome I don’t know anything or remember anything about my past. How did I get here? Bulma never told me that. She said I just arrived on her doorstep. I can’t believe I still remember that, and it’s even more unbelievable that I still buy that story." Yes, she remembered her parents, and the one called Diana…but what were they to her now? They hadn’t come for her in the last two years since she was nine. Did they even care for her anymore?
She sighed and let the water run down her face. She then turned off the water, swept her hair up, squeezed it tightly and let it fall down her back.
Grabbing a towel, she glanced at her face in the mirror, then did a full stare. She didn’t look like Bulma or any of them, and she certainly wasn’t of the human race.
She played with her hair, then towel dried it and after doing so wrapped the towel around her body.
She couldn’t say she wasn’t pretty, but she had never really paid that much attention to herself in the first place, so she really didn’t know what people considered pretty.
Bulma and Chichi were pretty…but she was tomboyish. It wasn’t that she wanted and desperately needed a boyfriend or anything, but she wanted something from someone…
…To be held? She really hadn’t thought of that before. She was way too old to be held in someone’s arms anymore…she was almost grown.
But she blushed at the thought. Who would hold her? One of the guys she grew up with? Goten? Trunks? Mirai Trunks? Gohan? The wind got knocked out of her and she blushed madly. Her cheeks felt hot and suddenly she was sweating.
What was that? At just the mention of Gohan’s name, she got all whoozy? This was crazy.
Reenie sat in her room combing out her hair that was well past her elbows and straight all the way to her behind. She combed and smoothed, combed and smooth. All the while wondering when she heard Bulma call out, "Reenie! Dinner!"
Hopping up, she threw on some bed pants and a tank and went downstairs with her hair slick, soft, shiny and for the first time, clean and down.
It fell over her face as she looked down at her plate of food, and she could feel eyes on her.
"What’s wrong, Reenie?" Mirai Trunks asked. "Yeah, you look angry." Reenie’s face popped up. "Goten? Gohan? What are you guys doing here?"
She crossed her arms. She wasn’t wearing a bra…she was expecting all of the guys to be still outside…this was so embarrassing…maybe they hadn’t seen…oh geez…
"Ah Bulma-san, may I be excused? I’m not feeling well right now, I guess I need some sleep. Um, dinner looks great, thanks." She whirled on her heel and flew up the steps to the safety of her bedroom.
Under the covers she blushed madly. What was going on? She had never before cared about what the other guys saw! Whenever they were over before, she wore tanks and shorts and long shirts with only underwear…no, it wasn’t proper, but nobody seemed to care!
What did that Time Chamber do to her? Or was she…growing up? Well, this was a terrible way to start. She fought going downstairs and apologizing formally and forced herself to sleep. Maybe rest was what she needed. After a good nap…
And she was sleep.
~~~
The Sailor Scouts landed softly in a park in the city. "This place has changed so much. Since when did cars fly?" Amara asked skeptically. "Are we really on earth?" Mina asked, her hands behind her head, leaning against a light pole. "I think so." Ami replied, checking everything out. "These people are humans, so we must be on earth."
"It’s so weird," Serena began, catching the attention of all of them, "it’s so weird to look like this again. It kind of makes me feel younger." She looked up laughing. "Ray! Do you think your temple is still around? Oh, and we just have to check on the old school!" She giddily skipped down the sidewalk of the park in regular clothing. Ray growled. "Meatballhead! We’re here to find Reenie, not to play some childish game of remember-the-good times now get your butt back here!"
Serena stopped dead in her tracks. "You’re
right, Ray." She said quietly. "But you know something?" she slowly turned
around with a devilish grin on her face. "I bet Chaaaaad will be happy to
see you!" she emphasized his name, stuck her tongue out at Ray and hopped off
down the sidewalk. Ray blushed madly. "That stupid meatball moon head…"
"SERENA GET BACK HERE!" She ran down the street chasing Serena screaming, "If you ever mention that name again!" and waving her fist wildly.
Lita, Mina and Ami sweatdropped. Hotaru laughed quietly and Amara just shook her head. "Things hadn’t changed since day 1 of Serena’s arrival on earth in the old times, and now she’s gone back to that ditzy blonde." She seethed.
"You know, I noticed something," Michele said, cocking her head. "We never got any work done when Serena and Ray were arguing before. Isn’t it funny?"
"No, Michele, it’s just normal." Mina said, waving her hand and smiling. Lita joined in laughing, "Serena’s a great friend and all, but I don’t recall one time she was actually serious."
"Except when she was around Darien. But he was always nice to everyone anyone, even though Serena was way too young for him. I thought he needed some serious, but nice and intelligent…kind of like—" Ami stopped.
"Kind of like you, Ami?" Amara implied. Ami blushed furiously. "Uh, I didn’t mean it like that, ha, I was just joking!"
The girls all laughed. It was true, earth had been a scary place, but it was kind of like, a second home.
And none of them had realized how much they missed it.
Reenie’s eyelids fluttered. Then she woke up. She was sweaty and sticky and hot. "I need to open my window." She said drowsily. It was still light outside, how long had she been sleep?
Her feet hit the ground before she decided how many hours she’d been snoozing and she stood, stretched and yawned. Blinking a couple times to wake her eyes up, she looked at herself in the mirror in her bedroom.
Her hair was in place, her eyelids were low over her eyes but overall she looked pretty.
That woke her up.
Why was she worrying about whether she looked pretty or not? There was no one here to impress! Except Mirai Trunks and Trunks…if Goten is here, and Gohan, them too…but no one important!
Ugh, she hated this growing up thing. It was like she worried about every little detail of how she looked.
She needed to clear her thoughts.
A swim! A bath…but no, she needed a swim more. "Luckily there’s a lake behind Bulma’s house." She said aloud, smiling.
Throwing on a sports bra, a stretchy pink tank top and some khaki shorts, she walked towards her door. She hated what she was about to do…She ran back to her mirror, put on a pink stretch band in her hair, thick ankle socks and her brown forest boots, then (AN: the kind Bulma wore in the early DB shows) she decided to leave and take a walk to the lake before she wanted to do anything else to herself.
Walking out of her room Reenie listened to see if anyone was around. It was quiet.
"Wonder where everyone is."
She walked down the steps and outside when she heard talking.
"Come on Goten, please?"
"No way, last time you almost killed me."
"Almost!"
"That’s close enough for me!"
"But I didn’t!"
"You would have if Vegeta hadn’t stopped you, and my dad hadn’t almost killed you."
"Goku wouldn’t do anything to me."
"No, but he could."
"Suuuure."
"If you’re so cocky go fight him."
"I’d rather fight with you."
"No. Go away."
"Goten!"
"Get away from me!"
By this time Reenie was cocking an eyebrow at them and smiling. "Hi guys." She said when they hadn’t noticed her. The argument stopped and both guys smiled at her. "Hey Reenie."
"Hiya Reenie."
"So where is everyone?" she asked, leaning against and tree and covering the ends of her elbows with each hand. "Gohan and Mirai Trunks went somewhere, we forgot where, and everyone else is at Goku’s house. They told us to stay here in case you woke up and wanted to know where everyone was. I think Gohan and Mirai Trunks should be back soon." Trunks said.
"Yeah," Goten piped up, "they left us alone."
"What? Have you two been arguing this whole time?" she asked.
"Oh no, no. We just started. You didn’t miss anything good." Trunks said smirking.
"I’m sure. What makes you think I’d even be interested in your argument in the first place."
"Just the way you were listening ever since you walked out of the house two minutes ago."
"You saw me?"
"Of course. We see everything, we know everything." Goten said, smiling.
"How long have I been asleep?" she asked, tracing the bark of the tree with a slender finger.
Goten watched her do this, amazed at how she made it seem as if the bark were marble. "A couple of hours." He said, just as Gohan called down to them.
Reenie looked up and waved gracefully in Goten’s eyes. He wasn’t interested; she was like a sister to him, but she certainly was pretty.
"So the princess is awake." Mirai Trunks said when he landed next to Gohan. Reenie smiled. Not because of the compliment, but because the word sounded so familiar. She knew he was kidding…but why did it feel as if "princess" was the real word to describe her? She shrugged it off. "Where’d you guys go?"
"Fishing."
"Where’s the catch?"
Gohan looked down and Mirai rolled his eyes. "Gohan over there got hungry on the way here and ate them all. Raw."
"Ew…you could get sick." Goten said, starting to float. "And where are you going?" Gohan asked. "To dad’s house. I figure since you guys are home, I can leave. I’m not staying with Trunks. He wants to kill me."
"No, just spar with you."
"See what I mean? Later." He took off in the direction of Goku’s house and Trunks waited five minutes before following. "I figure I should give him a head start. By the time I’m right behind him it’ll be too late. Bye!"
The last three waved and Reenie played with some of her hair. She curled it around her finger, twisted it, chewed it occasionally and stared off in the distance. Thinking always did that to her.
"What are you thinking about?" Gohan asked, taking a seat under the tree she was leaning against. She jolted. "Where’s Mirai Trunks?"
"You didn’t hear him or see him leave? He said he was going to my dad’s house to see if any sparring was going on. Guess it’s just me and you." He paused. "Look, I hope you’re not hungry because I can’t really cook."
Reenie broke out into laughing and slid down the tree to sit next to him. She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her head on them. "You could cook if somebody taught you."
"And who would teach me?"
She put on her best-appalled look. "Why me of course!" she playfully pushed him, then stopped herself…this felt right, but somehow…obvious? Was she…what was she doing? Laughing when it wasn’t funny, blushing whenever he was around…playfully pushing him!
Ugh, was she…what did Bulma call it? Was she flirting with him?
Oh goodness…she had to get out of there fast…"Reenie?" she faced him. "You stopped talking, something wrong?"
"Oh, nope, nada, nothing, why do you ask?"
He cocked an eyebrow…Reenie was acting weird. "Reenie, what’s wrong? You always seem nervous around me."
That did it…Reenie stood. "Gohan, how about we talk some other time because I’m really…hot, I need to take a bath, a swim…gotta go, bye!"
She ran behind Bulma’s house with tears in her eyes.
Why was she being so stupid? She was pushing her friend, her very best friend; she was pushing him away.
She threw off her boots and socks and dove into the water.
She did three laps around the lake, dove under, came back up to the surface and sloppily landed on the bank of the lake on her back, heaving breaths.
What was she going to do? She couldn’t hide her feelings any longer; they were picking her apart. So she had a crush on Gohan, big whoop. It would pass, right? She stared blankly up at the clouds drifting slowly across the sky when she saw…
"Ah! What!"
"Ah! Don’t do that!"
Reenie and Gohan both gained their breaths before speaking to one another again. "What were you doing? You scared me half to death!" she cried. Gohan blinked and smiled. "You looked kinda…dead just laying there so I came over to see if you were OK. You want me to leave…?"
Reenie smiled. "No, stay. Sorry…before I was just—"
"Weird?"
She smirked.
"Thanks, but I was going to say distracted." Gohan smiled. "No problem."
What she had planned to be five minutes of conversation turned into five hours of sharing thoughts, fighting skills and training techniques. Plus the story of the Saiy-jins.
It was well past dark when they stood to leave, both cramped from sitting so long. "What time is it?" Reenie asked, stretching again.
Gohan shrugged. "Late." Reenie gathered up her ankle socks to put them on. Gohan glanced at the lake and this gave him a good/bad idea.
"Want to take a dip in the lake one last time?" he asked. "No thanks, it took five hours for me to dry."
"Oh…too bad."
With that he grabbed her waist and threw her into the water. "Agh…!" she yelled, flinging her socks to land right before she went under.
This was kind of scary and at the same time amazing. The water was so dark…it was true nothing lived in it, but the mud from the bottom had such a creepy effect.
She jumped out of the water, dove at Gohan but he disappeared! Falling onto land, she saw him in front of her, laughing. She dove at him, missed, and fell into the water.
She was almost to the surface to attack him again, when she felt something freezing cold and hard clamp onto her ankle.
Her head reached the surface, and she screamed, drank the air and was pulled downward.
Oh my God, oh my God…OH MY GOD! How was she going to get out of this? She was losing air…precious air. And where was Gohan? Hadn’t he seen her scream? She was going to die here…
She clawed the water then took her panicking out on the iron grip that was like deadweight on her ankle. How deep was this water?
If she could just…a pan in her chest made her push out the last of her air…she sucked in water, choked, swallowed, sucked again. She was feeling dizzy, and her chest wasn’t rising…what was…
Everything went black for Reenie.
Gohan was fighting whatever was gripping Reenie. The water was too dark for him to see, but each attack he hurled he could clearly see something, and it had eyes…
He dove into the water attacking, for he had memorized where it was, and finally it eased off of Reenie…
He threw another attack in the water and found her.
Oh God…her eyes were closed, and she wasn’t breathing.
He swam toward her, grabbed her waist and flew up to the surface…
He set her down and looked at her. "Reenie, come on, wake up!" he shook her, yelled to her, but she wouldn’t move. He didn’t know what to do…Bulma would!
Gathering her up gently he dodged off to the front of Bulma’s house and inside.
Inside Bulma’s house everyone was sitting on her couch, everyone meaning Mirai Trunks, Trunks, Vegeta and her, watching television. Bulma was sitting next to Vegeta, leaning on him. Vegeta didn’t mind this; he sort of liked it even…
Trunks was on his stomach with his feet lazily kicking back and forth in the air. Mirai sat in an armchair nearest to his parents when Gohan burst in, dripping and scared. "Bulma! Reenie…she was…and it…and she…look at her!"
Bulma jumped up along with the others and crowded around Reenie. Her face was pale, almost blue. "She’s dying! Gohan, get her into my lad."
Gohan did so and everyone else tried to follow but Bulma wouldn’t let them in.
They sat in the family room, the television off, Gohan pacing and dripping. "Sit down, boy, pacing will do you no good!" Vegeta snarled. "And what were you both doing out so late, swimming, anyway?"
"We were just playing, Vegeta, and something pulled her down…it was huge."
"What was it? The Lockness Monster?"
Gohan shook his head at Vegeta’s sarcasm. "Is she gonna live?" Trunks asked timidly, caring about Reenie ten times more all of a sudden. "She’s gonna live, she has to live…if she didn’t…" Gohan was talking more to himself. "So careless…I was so careless! I should of…could of helped."
"You did all you could, Gohan, stop beating yourself up." Mirai Trunks said gently. Gohan nodded and sat down.
^^^^
Bulma cupped Reenie’s face in her hands and spoke to her. "Reenie, I’ve done all I could, you’re not responding to anything! You have to fight this, Reenie…death is not for you, and you’re too young. You have such a good heart. Fight it, come back, Reenie, we all need you…"
She blinked but tears still slid down her cheeks. Leaving the room and Reenie on an operating table, she faced the others and shook her head.
Gohan paled and was sick on Bulma’s rug. Trunks drooped and Mirai Trunks didn’t do anything but stare into the armchair with his head down.
Bulma was in Vegeta’s arms, crying and pounding her fists into his chest, shaking her head. Vegeta just stood there with his chin resting on her hair and his eyes staring blankly at the wall in front of him.
KeriKoe smiled. Her beast had done it! Killed Reenie, finally. It was easy to come to earth first; seeing this was the only planet humans could breath on. Lunarians needed the moon, and earth was so close…it was obvious.
Finding the little brat had been the real challenge.
So many stupid towns on earth. When she went to the countryside, the little jerk’s energy level hit her in the face! She had tracked Reenie down, placed the beast in the water when she was too busy talking to notice and had waited.
Now, it had paid off…Reenie was dead and Teero was hers…
Good things always come to those who wait…
Serena felt sick. She clutched her head and moaned. "Is that you Reenie?" she asked herself. "What’s wrong? Where’s your energy?"
She stood, eyes shining silver and hair fluttering. She didn’t care if she was in public, Reenie…her daughter…
"Reenie!" she yelled, tears flowing down her cheeks.
Inside herself, Reenie woke up. She stared down at her mortal self, but floated off in her spirit self.
Bulma and Vegeta, their whole family was grieving. And Gohan…was that strong guy…was he crying?
Reenie wanted to comfort him, to hold him…to be held. She landed in front of him; he was lying on the couch. She touched his head but her fingers felt nothing. She looked down at him. So beautiful…so wonderful. He was kind and gentle…loving.
He needed her…
She felt something pull and turned around…
"Mother?" A queen stood before her, shining, beautiful. Long silvery hair with silver eyes…
"Reenie…my Reenie, you’re alive!" The Queen came to hug her but Reenie pulled back, tears shining in her eyes. "Why didn’t you come back for me? Why did you leave me here alone? I missed you so much but I didn’t even know what you meant to me…" Reenie’s tears spilled over and her mother captured her in a warm, loving hug. "I’m here now Reenie. And I will find you. I miss you too, and we have been searching for you for two years."
Serenity was being pulled back. "No, don’t leave. Mother, please! I miss you…will you come back?"
Serenity couldn’t answer…she was gone.
The spirit Reenie stood with her fists clenched and tears spilling down her cheeks.
"My mother is here…on earth! And she is coming to find me!" this made her overjoyed and she rushed back into the operating room. She stared down at herself. Completely frozen blue. Then, she grinned.
She floated slowly downward until she was inside her body once again…
Reenie woke up sucking in air and coughing. But she was smiling, and she blinked.
She got off the table and stood up…
Reenie was back!
Yahoo! I wouldn’t ever kill Reenie off...that would be cruel!
Welp, I guess we saw basically no romance…sorry about that…but at least you know more about Teero!
